KDGIRL I love avocados also. I have one half every day with breakfast.

The trick to keeping it from going brown is after you split it leave the PIT in the side you are saving. I put a little saran wrap over it and it stays green.

i'm allergic to mayo. i can eat everything in it..the docs think its the curdling process that sets it off. i thought it was in my mind...but when i have anything with it in it, i am in the ER in anaphylaxis. go figure...so i just stay away. i know others have told me there are avocado "holders" you can put them in that keep them? I've tried and tried them..all ways..and just cant choke them down. others love them..its like fish..i cant eat it. i tried..but to me its awful. i'll cook it..just cant choke it down. so i dont even try any more..

Aww Holly - I love both mayo and avocado!! Butter too, of course. There are so many delicious things on keto, that no one needs to force themselves to eat any one thing they don't like. I don't eat avocados much because my husband doesn't like them. And I can't figure out how to keep them from going brown after I open them, and even I don't eat a whole avocado in one sitting.

Thank you all so much.
Love the support in here already.

I look forward to the tastes in food changing too.
There isn't much I don't like, but I would LOVE to love avocado.
That is one I really, really want to eat but can't (yet)

So happy to be here. Nice to know that some can relate.
Carbs ruled my entire life. The differences I feel each day are amazing, and this has only been day 6. Will definitely be a lifestyle now that I've finally taken the leap.

I started low carbish in January - transitioned to keto in March. My body is changing - I can tell it! Now I am not so focused on "I have to lose 30 pounds by ..." but rather that "I can hardly wait until I go to the doctor in November and have her see my labs...".

I love keto food. Wish I had my own chef to prepare it for me, because you really do need to do more prep work. But when I make the effort, it's delicious. And when I don't, there's cheese, meat and macadamia nuts!! And bacon of course.

Welcome.

The good news is that not only are cravings greatly reduced, one typically has a change in taste sensitivity, and in preferences. Its certainly not all about cutting things out. I've added a whole bunch of things that now taste great.

I never imagined that raw zucchini dipped in ranch dressing would be something I really really like, but it is.

Really happy to be here.
New to the keto way of eating, and loving it so far.
I am on day 5 - and I am 10.6 lbs down as of day 3.

My history with food. Binge eater, bulimia, sugar addict.
I have had a lifetime of trying fad diets and living miserably.
I joined a recovery program to start healing the inside, and my mindset feels ready for the outside. For me, this is more than a weight loss journey, but a way of life.
As a sugar addict, I will hang on to my sugars and carbs like they're my best friend.
I have fought for my carbs for a few years now for those who have suggested keto.
I just wasn't ready I guess. Today my health demands I make a change and start taking care of me.

Back in 2012, I lost 114 lbs, only to gain it all back and then some because I wasn't doing the inside work. So, now that I am doing that, I think it's what is helping me feel ready for keto. I have tried low carb (not keto) but that just kept me craving and falling off the wagon. So far, on day 5 I am pleasantly surprised how much I am not craving, and feeling full and satiated.

Anyway, that's a bit about me.
Also, Canadian (living in Maine until the summer) , new granddaughter (first one) and happy to have found a place I can share and find support and motivation. Looking forward to meeting everyone and getting to know ya's.
