Welcome Natalie!

I stumbled on to keto through Ideal Protein (August 2016). Keto is much better - no astronaut food.

Through research, I've found that you can make this way of eating as simple or complicated as you want. There are a ton of resources out there and you won't believe how helpful folks on this team are.

Have fun and keto-on!!

Welcome Natalie,

what your write sounds so familiar. I too tried just eating less (a long time ago), and I tried weight watchers ...

Keto has been the only thing that has kept my blood sugar under control, my cravings at normal levels, and helped me loose weight in the long term.

Glad you found us.

you might even try lowering your protein to around 55-60...total carbs under 20 like you said, and the rest fat. and hey..who cares if its water weight or what..its GONE and thats fantastic!!!

Keep up the great work!!!

Hello everyone! My name is Natalie, I just started keto 29 days ago and I am so happy I found this lifestyle!

I feel like I've tried everything to lose weight, I've even done low carb before, but not the correct way. What I love about keto is i feel like it's cured my food addiction. Apparently I cannot tolerate very many carbohydrates without having crazy cravings for more. All I thought about was food, and I was so hungry.

But now, I never think about food. Fat keeps me satisfied for several hours. My moods are more level now and my bloodsugar is stable.

The first like 10 days I lost 7 pounds, but then the water weight was pretty much gone and my weight went up and down a little bit. I fell off the wagon for 3 days during Christmas, it was not worth it, and now Im back to it.

I've been reading Jimmy Moore's Keto Clarity book and decided to make some changes...
Today I started counting protein and fat as well, according to the book i shouldn't go over 68 grams of protein a day because I weigh about 136 right now.
Another change Im making is to not do net carbs, but count carbs the normal way.
Also, I think I need to look into getting a glucometer.

I should mention my stats...

I am 5 ft tall I started keto at 142, and Im about 136 right now. My first goal weight is 115, but after that I will see where my body ends up. I don't think weight matters too much. For my height Im supposed to be between 95-127 pounds.

I just love the way I feel most of all, and the freedom I have now! Keto has freed up so much mental space for me now that Im not obsessed with food anymore. I have more energy to keep up with my 3 kids now too.

I can't wait to get to know everyone!
