Welcome SUSIQUE2!

I did weight watchers too, ages ago (more than 20 years ago). I remember fighting my hunger and urges the whole time.

Keto is different. For weight loss it isn't just calorie restriction, it is the type of calories. Fat burns slower than carbs, and dietary fat doesn't hit blood sugar the way carbs do, so blood sugar and hunger are far more even.

If you think you are loosing weight too quickly for the skin to shrink ... well one can always loose weight more slowly, just eat more, and eating more Keto oriented foods isn't going to drive hunger up the way eating potato chips, ice-cream and junk food does.

Hi Susie! Welcome!
We all have different experiences. Some lose quickly, some don’t. Most people have the loose skin problem if they lose large amounts of weight..is rather have the loose skin than the 128 pounds I’ve lost!!
It also depends on more factors..your age, how many times you’ve lost and gained weight, etc. I’m 59 and fat my entire life up till now, so of course I’m going to have more loose skin than someone that’s 20 and only big for a couple years.
As for the bulletproof coffee—I don’t drink coffee but I know most use it as a meal.
Some quick tips—find your TDEE for your minimum calories. Keep your protein between 45 and 75 grams a day (75 if you are very active, under 60 if not). Carbs under 20 grams. And the rest fat. Don’t compare yourself to others—some lose quickly others dont.
Ask questions!! We are here to help and support you!!

Dr. Jason Fung: "Holy consensus, Batman. With so many 'experts' from Michelle Obama to the USDA to virtually all of the medical professionals (including doctors and dieticians) agreeing that 'Eat Less, Move More' is the way to go, you might think that it is 100% unquestionably true. But here's a queer thought... if we all agree that we know the cure for obesity, and we've spent billions on educations and programs - why are we getting fatter? In other words, why does this 'cure' suck so bad?

Welcome!

Bulletproof coffee is whatever you'd like it to be... breakfast, snack, meal... a delicious way of increasing your fat percentages.

I've eliminated nearly 100 lbs. in 10 months (I'm 56) with no skin issues because keto burns up the subcutaneous fat that stretches skin out. People with a lot of loose hanging skin have often lost a significant amount of muscle rather than fat... much less a problem with keto. Some people will still have stretch marks and crepey skin in places due to having been overstretched.

It also really depends on the condition of your own skin... keep well hydrated, increase collagen stores naturally (gelatin, stay well hydrated, bone broth), moisturize, use dry brushing, and build muscle.

Twice retired mom to three wonderful adult kids. I've just slowly gained over the years and now I'm flirting with 200. The only time I've really lost was a stint with weight watchers and I felt like I was obsessing with food all the time. So when I started thinking about other things I gained it back. I hope this way of eating will become automatic and I can stick to it.
I've done lots of reading and have a couple of questions.
Does bulletproof coffee count as a meal? Or is that breaking a fast?
Also, I haven't seen any mention of loose skin and it seems that would be a big problem with losing weight so quickly.
Thanks,
Susi
