@ APPLEVEE - because I was only on Day 2, I have decided to restart the counts... I'm on Day 6 today (Dec 11 with the restart). If I had've been on a higher number then I probably would've done the same the same thing as you suggested. The nice part is that along with your kind words of encouragement, I have been able to put my guilt monster away and let a lot of things go. Instead of rewarding myself with food I'm enjoying luxurious baths - I used to work at Lush Handmade Cosmetics about 10 years ago and still have a lot of products I got with the staff discount.

@ NIGHTSKYSTAR - those snack ideas sound fantastic. Do you have a favourite brand of pork rinds? I am totally uneducated about them and in fact am a little hesitant to try them. Think I'd be a little disturbed if I found a hair/bristle. We live in the boonies and I'd probably be buying them on amazon.

P.S.: I'm so very glad to have found this group - nothing like seeing someone's ticker say that they've lost 45 - 130 pounds - if you can do it, then I can do it...and if you have any advice to share, I'm all ears!!! What an amazing accomplishment!!!

Alana we are here for you!!! hang in...get 3 days under your belt then it gets WAY easier!!
if you feel like having something..coat some nuts in butter and swerve and snack on them..sweet and crunchy. or toss some pork rinds with melted butter and then sprinkle with cinnamon and swerve...again..satisfies the crunch and sweet need!

@ENCHANTEDALANA I don't restart my daily count. I find it too discouraging. I feel like it is beating myself up to punish for each transgression. I do better when I can look back at a bigger picture and say things like "wow Day 6 and I am fianlly getting this thing under control" rather than "Darn it I failed again and I'm at day 1 still!"
Learning self compassion is part of my weigh loss journey. We all slip up and have bad days or evenings or weeks but it is all part of our individual self learning journey.

You will get more consistent as you practice being more aware. You had a great Day 1, so you know can do this. Most of day 2 was awesome! focus on that. A bit of an issue in the evening - ask yourself why... Bored? watching TV? emotions? Stress? Churning a bad day? It is the trigger you need to find and deal with...

You can do this!

Welcome Alana. Great to have you here! I briefly did Ideal protein in the past as well. I'm with you on the prepackaged foods though..and the cost is crazy!

Hi everyone. After reading all the interesting intro posts, here's mine.

I remember being 9 years old and 99 pounds. I also remember being 13 and weighing 165. Change of school and attitude and at 14 I had lost a lot (don't remember) and felt a lot better about myself. At that point I was my full adult height of 5 foot nothing.
I was a healthcare worker for a couple of years (x-ray and MRI tech)and I recall weighing 135 and being viewed as the heavy girl of the department. After quitting my last MRI job I went into a tailspin. I didn't own a scale but I DO remember my clothes hanging off of me. I had a good friend tell me that I was looking great and then asked me if I was okay - again, all I remember is that my size 10 dress pants were huge - I needed that belt!
Met a fantastic man - been together since 2008, been engaged since Christmas 2016 and we're getting married in June 2018 - and now I weigh 190. Still 5 feet tall.

I was going to wait until after Christmas to get started - but after everyone's inspiring stories, I'm gonna go for it. Tomorrow is Monday, and tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life!

I first heard about keto diets through Ideal Protein - my employer sold it, and I was trained (sort of) as a coach. Summer 2016 saw me lose 15 pounds in about 2 months...what amazed me most was that I wasn't hungry...at all! But, slowly, my willpower slipped and things started sneaking into the diet. AND, space food doesn't really appeal to me. I wanted to try doing a similar diet without having to shell out over $100 a week for packaged bleh! So, that's how I stumbled upon ketogenic diets.

I will look good for our wedding day. I will have lots of choices for a wedding dress and be able to try them on in the store and not look like a size two sausage stuffed into a size one case. To walk into a normal store and have a selection of things to try on. I will be comfortable in my own skin and I wouldn't mind trying on the reams of clothes that I have in my closet that haven't fit me for a long, long time, just before I toss them because they're out of style now! Wouldn't that be a treat! Here we go!
