Hi and welcome!! If I can add to James' food list...bacon!! Heavy whipping cream, sour cream, team cheese. No fruit at all..after a few weeks you can try tiny amounts of raspberries, blackberries or strawberries. No other fruit is keto..unless you call avocado a fruit--avocados are keto.

I come from a family background where wasting food is a sin. Up there with lieing and cheating.

It took me a while to think if is my health that is number one, and if that means wasting food (a sin) then so be it.

Giving away food that I think is bad for me to a relative or friend is a little difficult too. If it's bad for me, then it's bad for them. But I sooth my conscience by thinking that they were going to eat that sort of food anyway.

James - Thanks - the cabinets are getting cleaned out. I used to do lots of soups so I need to get rid of the dried beans; sugars and rice stuff. Probably give them to sis because I doubt she will try the keto. It is just me at home and she has more people to deal with in her household. Actually my garden is starting to flourish so as for sandwiches; I've been using my collard greens as the bread. thanks again.

THANKS JAMES==I needed that boot to get me back on track--I had a terrible weekend. Went way off plan and am trying to get back on track.

Working hard on it today.
Feel terrible so that helps emoticon

Welcome!

Two cabinets of what? Food? I suggest someone else in your house eat that, or a relative, or pack it away.

Keto is rather unforgiving when it comes to extra carbs, they throw you off track. Like if you are eating Keto but have a burger and fries, just one meal, you are off track for about 2 days. If weight loss is your goal that is 2 days of no loss.

So on to the positive ...

Breakfast: eggs any style, cheese, coffee with cream (no sugar), or herbal tea, or any tea. If you like a sweetener go for stevia.

On the go foods, cheese sticks with a slice of deli meat around them. Any meat is good, don't worry about fat in the meat, in fact you may find it hard eating enough fat. So just no breadings or sweet sauces.

If you like sandwiches, the insides are usually OK, like cheese slices, any meat, butter, mustard, then it comes to the bread. Have a look in the recipies section for bread made with protein powder rather than flour.

If you want something frozen, sort of like mashed potatoes, make cooked cauliflower, mash it, add milk and butter and spices.

Plenty of ideas.

Hi all, I've been doing a lot of research on the Keto plan and strongly thinking of trying it out; I still have two cabinets to go through, but truth is I really still not sure where to start. I see so many food plans and such but I am a very simple person; I'm not going to make all these various meal. I need quick an easy or to make bulk items that I can freeze. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
