Hi! New here. Started my current weight loss journey in June, did pretty well, but am lacking momentum.

I have a toddler and a full time job, and it feels like there just aren't enough hours in the day!

Hi, everyone! My name is Alyssa, and I am 33 years old. I have a 7 (almost 8) year old daughter, and a 9 (soon-to-be 10) year old son. My ex-husband and I are back together to work things out. We have both, since getting divorced from one another, started developing our relationship with God both separately and together.

I have been through some traumatic situations in the recent past couple years. I have packed on the pounds, although I have been heavy most of my life. I am working on loving me, on healing me, developing (more) my relationship with God, and truly being health in every aspect that I possibly can. That means a LOT of hard work, but I believe that I am ready for that challenge!

I'm excited to be here again. I just rejoined SparkPeople after a couple year sabbatical. I'm looking for friends to encourage and cheer on, as well as forming a support group of unstoppable people! If you'd like, you all can stop by my page and add me as a friend :)

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better!

Hello Everyone. My name is Deanna. I am also guilty of being a yo yo dieter since my last child was born 8/7/03 ( she is 12 today!) my highest weight was 220 and I've been able to get down to 155 only to regain and lose again and again.

Today I realized I need to start again. I had a job interview and NONE of my clothes fit as I donated everything above size 14 when I got down to size 10... I did my best to put myself together and went on my way. When I was out I ran into a friend I haven't seen since August 1st last year... I actually saw " the look" as she clearly seen how much weight I had gained. She was polite enough not to say anything but it was enough of a very uncomfortable day all the way around for me to say it's time to get back on track.
My kids are 12,16, and 17 and I am married to my high school sweetheart. I am an RN and do more for everyone else than I do for myself ( I'm sure so many can relate!) but I'm gonna be 35 next month and it's time to take my health seriously and put it on the front burner.

@KURTZIE1998 emoticon to our team emoticon ! We're so happy to have you. While I was reading your goals many of your goals are aligned with many of our members goals. For instance, I understand how breaking the 200's can be challenging "so close yet so far". I always try and take on the approach "one day at a time" again "so simple" yet "so hard" for many of us to do. What inspires me most about this team is that we all have a strong desire to be the best we can be and we never stop trying emoticon We have our bad days and good days; however we emoticon through it because anybody can be their best on their good days it's the bad days that holds more weight! With all this being said I do hope our team helps you get back on track. emoticon Thank you for accepting the invite and wishing you nothing but the best with your goals!

Hi, my name is Joyce. I have been a member of sparks since 2013 but only actually became active on it Sept 2014. I want to eventually get to 150 lbs. But right now just want to lose 10 lbs and get to 199. My main goal is to live a healthy life style, stay as active as I can, face reality I can't do what I did when I was younger. I want to live my life to the fullest. I like making friends, am active in church, leader of our ecumenical Bible study, on worship and music committee and Vice Pres. of our church council. I also like and active in Red Hats. Love to meet and go out with friends. Married to a get guy (over 51 years) who is my best friend as well and so very very supportive of whatever I do. I have been feeling discouraged how my goals are going so hoping this team will help me get my get up and go back.

PS Thank you for the team invite and I like the name of your team.

@WORKNPROGRESS49 We look forward to having you with us! emoticon The up and down with the weight can be extremely stressful to say the least emoticon What has really helped me is taking it "One Day at a Time" with our goals. Just setting one goal for the day and developing a daily habit of following each goal. I know this sounds generic but it has helped me greatly! We're wishing you nothing but the best! emoticon

Thank you for the invite to the team, I'm very happy to be here.

Now for my intro..I'm Barb and have had a life long struggle with my weight & am a chronic yo-yo dieter. I've recently turned 50 and am approaching my heaviest weight ever! I really need to get a handle on it because for the first time ever, my blood pressure is up and am currently on meds for it. I know I can get the weight off because I lost 50 lbs back in the late '80s and kept it off for about 9 yrs. I have found that SP is a great place for support.

@FindYourFit emoticon Thank you for the welcome! It really is a process and you are right - a lot of guilt has to go. A lot of it is guilt that I've taken in that doesn't belong to me; however because I have no sense of closure in my current situation right now I tend to blame myself deep down. I am not a dramatic person and I have always considered myself a good wife and mother. There are a LOT of doubts that try to assail me. But the more I press into Christ, the more I see the fear and doubts eat away at my faith. I have to let things go. I appreciate your encouragement :)

@NEWBEGINNING2ME emoticon We're happy to have you! emoticon For accepting the invite! emoticon . I can honestly say my faith is what got me to the point I'm at today. I believe it all starts with our mindset our mental thoughts and as a Christian woman I had to start putting God first in all that I do on a daily basis and pray to him to give me extra strength in all that I do. I live by the scripture "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" For I realize I can't do it on my strength alone for I'm not strong enough. As far as "Loving Yourself" I so understand. My husband grandmother "before she passed away" told me I need to Love Myself. When she said that to me it sounded so foreign for at times I didn't even like myself. Through time I learned that it's not that I didn't like myself I didn't like the things that people have done to me and i absorbed all of that pain when I myself have done nothing wrong, I was just an innocent bystander. I think it's hard for a person to Love themselves if they carry guilt in them. All that guilt and pain must be let go and it's a process a long process. My husband grandmother passed away two years ago but what she said struck really deep in me for in the same conversation she told me to "hug myself" and OH BOY that was so hard for me to do, which is sad because I'm a good person. After much healing I am Loving Myself much more but it's still a process. I pray that you will continue to heal and see all the beautiful qualities that are a part of you and less what you may feel are inadequacies. We're wishing you nothing but the best! emoticon

I am Kristy. I am 40 (soon to be 41) and I have 2 sons. I have a little over 100lbs to lose. I am having to learn to love myself, for me I have always loved myself as a wife and a mom, etc...but not for ME. My husband left me several months ago for another woman. I am starting over to take care of me. That way I can take better care of my 16 year old and be the stability that he needs. I also have an 18 year old but he is joining the US Marine Corps and leaving in a few months. I am a woman of faith but I have to admit that I have never applied my faith to weightloss. Now that my faith is a part of every breath I breathe I wonder why I never did. Thank you for inviting me to join :)

@CANSUCCEED2GOAL emoticon to our team! Wow our goals are very similar! When I got out the Navy back in 2004 my weight was 165. While serving upon completion of boot camp my weight was 128 pounds!! emoticon While serving I didn't like to workout because the forced us to do it and I was never the athletic type at the time. So to make a long story short in four years I went from 128 up to 165. Once I got out the Navy I went from 165 to 183 than found I was pregnant and well the rest was history. My highest weight was 223 and what I did first is started to make small goals...okay 218....than 215....than 212....I had to take baby steps for if I jumped to high it would of been overwhelming for me thinking about how much I have to lose! With this being said I pray and believe that you will in time reach that goal of 160 pounds! I honestly feel your mindset is heading in the right direction!!

Hi, all. Thanks for the invitation. I am 41 and need to lose 30lbs. I am prediabetic and am fighting to get my health back. I take metformin 200mg daily. I am trying for 100g carbs a day per doc and 100 g protein. I attend exercise classes almost daily as well as walking and periodic weights. I struggle with keeping my focus off the scale and on health. 6 weeks after starting this I have only really lost 2 lbs. The weight is just not coming off. I am shrinking, clothes fit better, I am stronger and my endurance is up. I really value SP and the support it offers. I'm glad to be part of the group.

emoticon @ HEALTHIER-VICKI We're very happy to have you as part of our team! The goals you have for yourself is wonderful. I find that many of us get stuck by creating unrealistic goals for ourselves. I use to tell myself okay "self" in four months my goal is to drop 45 pounds! It's possible but not that likely. What I have done as well like you is set small little goals for myself and milestones. For instance I started at 223 and my first goal was to hit 215, than 210 etc. When I hit 200 that will be my milestone emoticon My overall goal is to hit 188 by Sept 14 for my birthday. I might change that to 190. Once I hit 190 I may make a new years resolution to hit 180. I'm learning to take it slow as steady like yourself. Wishing you nothing but the best and praying and I believe you will hit that goal of 220 by Jan. 1-2016! We're rooting for you!! emoticon emoticon

Hi! My name is Dottie and my first goal is to get down to 200 pounds. After that I will take it 10 pounds at a time. My goal is 160 pounds. But its one step at a time right now and maybe one day at a time at that.

I was ten pounds from goal weight a few years back and thought hey I can handle this on my own, yes though I thought. I was indeed wrong and the pounds kept creeping back up. But I always had an excuse that I could get things right.

So now I have hip problems from my weight among other things that I would like to get rid of. I know its from my weight and that I can remedy it by losing the weight. My ultimate goal is to go hiking in Newfoundland/Labrador in the Tablelands at Gros Morne National Park. Was there when i was ten pounds from my goal, but not prepared for a hike. Would love to do that next summer. Next July or August to be exact. So that is what I am shooting for.

I look forward to making new friends and reaching our goals together and cheering each other on along their journeys.

Over the last 10 years I've gained 127 lbs and now it's time for me to reclaim my body
in the healthiest way I can. I've struggled to lose the weight and would drop a few pounds
only to regain them plus a few extra pounds. But since Sept. 2014 I've been working to
help my hubby lose necessary pounds so his heart function will improve and although
I worked towards my own goals, it was never 100%. But since June 20th I've taken back control
of my own body and will be working to drop the weight I need to lose to be at my
healthiest. My goals are to be 220 lbs. or less by Jan. 1-2016 and 180 lbs. or less by my 60th birthday
on Aug. 20-2016.
If between now and then if I decide I've reached a size I know I can be comfortable
with for the rest of my life, then I'll work to maintain it instead of going lower.
I'm going to work to get in as much fruit and veggies as possible on a daily basis, and
really work to cut back on processed foods as much as possible.

Hi 1234MOM!

We're very happy to have you with us! Congrats on your 30 pound weight loss this far! emoticon . Our weigh in days are typically on Mondays this way we can discuss and share on our progress; however some of us post during the week which is fine as long as it's consistent on the same day. The team is still fairly new so I'm still working out our goals and challenges for the team. I'm so happy you decided to join and that Mejai referred you emoticon . Wishing you the best with all your goals and hope you have fun with this team! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hello, I need a boost and an SP friend, Mejai, told me this is a fun group. I think I need some connection. I usually like a small group of active people but my other groups have diminished.

I'm an active 66 year old that loves to eat healthy food....too much healthy food. Too much of a good thing.

I've been a memeber since before this site was free. I've stayed active recording my workouts and have actually dropped 30 pounds and kept 20 off. I would love to drop anther 10 to 20 but these are very hard pounds to keep off. I'm not quite sure what I weigh today as I've just gotten back from a long vacation. I feel heavy. I'll guess I'm at 172. Do we have a weigh in day?

Hi, I am 54 year old single mom of two "grown up" children. My son just turned 18 on the 2nd and my daughter 19. My goal is to be 130 by my birthday (Oct. 12th). My weight loss plan is fairly simple, less simple carbs, more fruits and veggies, and exercise 6 days a week. I favorite exercise is walking ( I walk everywhere since I don't drive), I also have an exercise bike and because of the crazy rain here in Missouri I have been mowing the yard a lot.

Hi!
I am a 32 year old gal from SC. I have only been slim once in my life (weighed around 160 in my early 20s) and trying to get back there without starving to death. I am dating a great guy and my career is somewhat coming together so just trying to get my weight together too. Definitely have some self esteem issues that have cropped up over the years that center around my weight.
It is great to meet all of you!

Hi everyone!

I love reading through the intros.

HOPE - thanks for sharing your story with us. We're here to work this together and we can really get through this as a team. I really do hope that you can get out and meet some people up there in Canada. I've always wondered what it would be like to live there. Have you checked out meetup.com? I hear you on gaining the weight back. I'm a perpetual yo-yo. I know it's not healthy to gain and lose like this, so I'd really like to lose it and keep it off.

MARSHA - did you go and get that healthy food? It's such a good feeling to get off to that start. What a blessing to have shared so many years with DH. I can't imagine how hard it is to lose him after so long. You guys must have been truly "one." I'm happy to hear that you have supportive family around and strong faith and can't wait to share the journey with you.

SHARON - your name (SUNSHINE) is evident in your post. Such great energy. Congrats on your weight loss so far! What's WLS?

TURINKY - I think that I must need to update my sparkpage because I have WAY more than 7 pounds to lose. WAY more. We're resetting and getting started. Man, I can't tell you how much I thank you for inviting me her. Let's do this.

UNDRCOVERCURVES - LOVE the profile pic. Who is that, Kim Kardashian?? LOL. Thanks for the encouragement!

Ok, I'm heading over to daily goals to chat over there!!

Hiya hope, thanks for sharing! I sure wish you the best of luck with this journey. We can and will do this together, there is power in numbers and from the sounds of it, we have the will.

Sometimes it's all about knowing someone out there gets our struggles with weightloss and feeling depressed. This site is so great and apparently full of motivated individuals to help us along the way.

I look forward to hearing about your workouts and or healthy recipes. Getting to know what makes you, you! Enjoy your week and be safe.

Hi all. I loved reading each and every one of your introductions. Thank you much for inviting me to the group. I often forget to love myself and I think when we forget to love ourselves and we fall into negative self talk it leads to not taking care of ourselves physically so this is a GREAT group!

My name is Hope and I am 37 years old. I am originally from the states but I married my Canadian husband a little over 5 years ago and moved to Canada.

I started gaining weight at 18. I went from a size 10 to a size 16 in about a year and didn't know why. I found out then that I had PCOS and estrogen dominance. I married my first husband at 18 it was not a healthy relationship. It ended when I was 27 and when I was 29 I started dating my current husband. I have struggled with my weight since I was 18.

I went through some tough things when I was 29 some abuse but my husband helped see me through. I was down from 245 to 209 at one point but when I moved to Canada and quit working I gained the weight and more back. Last year with Spark I went from 278 down to 225 but I had a fall (tripped over some sidewalk whoops) and hurt my knee. I became discouraged and had a hard time getting back into Spark. I gained all but 12 of those pounds back. I started Spark back again last month with a whole new profile.

It's been hard making new friends since moving to Canada. It's led to some social anxiety and depression. The best way I combat this is through encouraging and helping others. Kindness and compassion really go along way towards making the world a better place!

My goal is to lose 118 more pounds. I am currently doing carb balancing (more grams of protein than net carbs) it's balanced and it's really good for those of us with PCOS! In addition I like to walk, hike, treadmill, and do walk of the pounds for exercise. I really want to start swimming again as well.

If you want to add me or need some advice or support just let me know. I love to help!

@FLSUNSHINE1931 emoticon To our team emoticon Thank you so much for accepting the invite. We're excited to have you with us. It is such a blessing to have so many people around you that love and care about you that is truly emoticon . Also 62 years of marriage emoticon that was simply a gift from God. I can only begin to imagine the difficulty you had to experience with this lost and I hope your heart is healing slowly. I've been married to my husband now for 13 years and we're working together to become much more healthier....as I mature more and more I'm learning how valuable life is and how we must fight for our happiness.
