Hi Debbie, Welcome to the team. I'm sorry you are struggling right now regarding your closeness with God. I will keep you in prayer. Just remember you are on the right track - doing so much of what he wants you to do. He has given you opportunities to serve and to worship and learn. He has also given you a wonderful family. Many blessings. I will also pray that he will help you to be able to resist the overeating temptations. I hope that what I have said will encourage you because that's what I wanted to do. I will pray for you - believe it.

I Peter 5:7

Casting all your cares upon him; for he careth for you.

I Cor. 10:31
Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do ALL to the glory of God.

Hi, I'm DebbieG. I'm 59, 33 years married to a non-Christian (which has been a major challenge); we live about an hour south of Sacramento CA. I have a grown married daughter who lives in Colorado Springs and one grandaughter who will turned 8 months on the 12th. I consider myself to be a fairly weak Christian; each time I try to draw nearer to God, I fall and get discouraged and pull away (which is where I am at the moment). I love to listen to/watch Joseph Prince (on ABC Family); I also watch the 700 Club and listen to KLOVE Radio. I've always struggled with insecurity and introversion, I also struggle with over-eating and pain and fatigue. Both my husband and I are retired. I try to exercise and eat right (when I'm not overeating); I volunteer at the church I just started attending in July and also at the gift shop at the local hospital. My main prayer support need is for a greater revelation of Jesus and His love for me, and the anointing power of His Spirit, for greater love, for motivation and discipline to live for and serve Him, and for physical healing, strength and energy; and, of course, for God's saving touch upon my husband Bill.

...Listen diligently to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance. Is. 55:2 NKJ
