II'm so glad I found a team that's just Type 1 Diabetes, I got the message and decided to intro myself.

I've been diabetic since 1975 right after I turned 18, it came about after I'd went from 140 to 98 pounds in a weeks time and our family had just lost a 9 year old cousin to Cranial Meningitis and we were told if there were any unusual symptoms to get tested. I did and that's when they discovered my diabetes.

Because I was the first in our family to have this disease, my Mom and I researched all we could about it and it did frighten me. (I had Great Great grandmother and her sisters and brothers who were still alive until I was 16 and none of them had it.)

Now, after all this time, I have a wonderful Husband who I've been married to for 30 years this year, and 2 great kids; Brande, 27, and Scott, 28. I'm truly blessed and am now starting to try to lose the 60 pounds I'd regained during the time my Dad was in the hospital with Dehydration and ended up with Herpes Simplex Encephalitis in the brain, and Aspergillis in the lungs (2 rare diseases gotten while he was in ICU). He'd had a brain tumor removed 2 weeks prior to that and because he couldn't start his radiation the tumor returned the end of Jan, 2012 and he passed away 2/10/12. He was put to rest on 2/14/12..makes me kind of not like Valentine's Day as much as I once did.

Anyway, I'm glad to be here and hope I'll be able to help others along this journey, and we can work together. Feel free to stop by my Spark Page, I'd love to have you in sometime. :D
