Miss not being able to see all the games. Like you, we all miss MA. Must be a Boston thing! My kids try to go to at least 2 games each season in Boston. My SIL was already a Boston teams fan even though he grew up in Rochester, NY and it seems to have rubbed off on my DIL.
After we moved to PA, I think Riverside adding some type of water attraction also then it became 6 flags. We use to have so much fun there. Ah, the good old days!

We never went to the Cape during the "season" but use to like to go there in the fall. You're right about it being commercialized.

I'm cheering for the Sox even if I can't see the game. GO SOX!!!!!

I can't believe you mentioned Riverside - I was just talking over the weekend to my son about one of the rides there that I went on when I was a kid! I have always wondered what happened to the park. I remembered it only cost $5 but I thought that was sooo much! lol

I forgot to mention that we lived in Cape Cod when I was 1-4 yrs. old. That was before it became so commercialized. Love MA. Love to visit and it always feels like going home to me wherever I happen to be visiting.

Watching the Red Sox right now against the Indians - hoping they can make it through these last 2 innings with their one run lead. Nerve racking!!

That is a great memory!

When my kids were home, our neighborhood use to make an annual trek during the summer to Riverside Park (now 6 flags). We were just talking about it over the weekend. We were in Ithaca for a college graduation. Of course we were all Red Sox fans and managed to watch the game!

Lived in Lee when I was young and then as a teenager I was in Three Rivers, near Palmer and Springfield. My grandparents lived in Springfield and my grandmother was a die hard Red Sox fan and she must have passed that down to me. She lived to be 104 and I can still remember her little radio pressed against her ear listening to the games and how she used to say "Yastrzemski - Yaz". Nice memories!

Mary Anne, I'm from PA as well. Used to live in MA growing up and I sure miss it! I'm a fan of all our great teams there but baseball is my favorite and the Red Sox are my obsession! My husband and I went to Boston last summer for our 25th anniv. and saw a game - nothing in the world like being at Fenway cheering them on in person!

You sound like me! My move to PA has made me even more of a fan. When my kids were young, they got to meet Ted Williams, Larry Bird and Bobby Orr. My son worshiped Bobby Orr and had so many of his trading cards. When he showed them to Bobby, he immediately asked if you would like them signed. My son was so excited he was shaking. Something he'll never forget.

I think my love of the NE teams started before I was born!! One of my first memories was Bobby Orr and the Bruins winning the Stanley Cup.

16 years ago, I moved 3000 miles away to Oregon. My 'fanship' has only multiplied, not diluted.

Patriots, Red Sox, Keto, Zumba, Highland Games are my passions. I may live in Oregon but my heart still roots for Boston!!

After moving to PA from MA, I've become even more of a die hard fan.

My husband grew up in MA (Needham) and has since lived in West Virginia, Michigan, California, and now Hawaii.

He's been a die hard Red Sox Fan (Celtics & Patriots too, but not as die hard) everywhere he's lived. He's had no problem finding like-minded members of the nation everywhere that he's lived.

I was never much of a baseball person before we were married, but I had absolutely no choice but to convert- wherever we are!

Faye, that's funny. The only sport my dad liked was basketball so I grew up watching the Celtics. When we lived in MA, my kids got to meet Larry Bird, Bobby Orr and Ted Williams. They are just in awe!

My daughter and her husband live in NY state but are both die hard Boston Fans. My son and his wife live here in PA and we've converted her to our side. LOL

I'm sitting here with one of my Pats shirts on!

I carried my love and loyalty to the Sox, Pats, and Bruins from Massachusetts to and through my 23 years exile in Texas and back again now to New York (in Yankee country)

didn't get so into the Celtics (save the seasons of Russell) ... I learned all my love of sports from my grandfather who thought there was nothing sillier than grown men in short pants bouncing a ball up and down the floor
