OK Kids, I can pretty much see that I have you all beat in age...at 76.....but I'm still going strong. I usually work out 5 days a week at Curves, this week has put a crimp in my style, because of the holidays they were closed on Monday, but we had a foot of snow, so I moved snow with a scoop for 2 hours. Tomorrow I'll get back on my Curves routine. Watching what I stick in my mouth during the holidays has been a challenge.. So here we go kids. emoticon

I will be 57 in Feb and have been in MUCH better shape at varying points in my life, today I am a bit sad about that. But on the bright side I have completed the videos and cardio despite the fact it's hard to find the time each day. I am not tracking food or weighing in--just exercise as scheduled every day. Then in 4 weeks I'll step up the goals. I expect to be proud of myself come my birthday. It's my present to me.

I believe age is just a number. A person can be "old" in mind and attitude, hence act and feel old.
I just turned "70" on 12/19/201, Check out my Spark page, photo's or my last couple of blogs all about age and living.
It's been two years since I was 333 lbs, I am now 136 lbs.
I go to the gym 6 days a week. Workout 3 hrs or more everyday.
This year is all about getting my body in the best physical shape I can. Building muscles and toning. I had two knee replacements last year. I am now able to walk 5K and 10K's,plus downhill skiing.
I don't consider myself old, I am mature and wiser than I used to be, but full of life and vitality.
My BF is younger than I and thinks I am younger than he is. I might tell him someday, but what difference does it make.
In my book 70 isn't old, maybe when I am 95, right now I am just hitting my stride.

Thought I'd get my two cents' worth in at 63, but now I feel like a spring chicken too! But not too chicken to join this challenge and kick butt. Mine, that is. I'm feeling blah and flabby with not getting my hikes in while out of town for the holidays, so I'm looking forward to the next one asap, and to getting back to pre-holiday weight then moving forward. Lost close to 45 lbs. with SP already (although I've backslid a little), 25 to go.

I am so glad to know I am in such good company!!!!! You all are awesome! We are all awesome!!! I have a gym friend who has been nicknamed "Gym Rat" by her fellow employees. She is 70....And does everyone know who Ernestine Shepard is? She is the oldest (74) female competitive body builder, and she has a six pack that a teenager would be jealous of.... While I will never do that, she is surely an inspiration!!!!
I just don't want to be the old lady who breaks her hip from osteoporosis...And I don't want to be flabby and gross.....It is time to cowboy up and put some effort into me.....So let's all hit it!!!

Happy Monday!
I have only been following this topic of us "older" gals and the original ones set up by our coaches. I think I will no longer receive an email when one of you posts here because I have had to shut off that option. I have grown weary of plowing through the dozens and dozens of emails sent because someone has started a new topic on the Challenge team. I wish we could choose the topics to get an email from. I do have a direct link to here so I'll be reading your posts a couple of times a day. I enjoy hearing what you gals have to say.

Good for you on returning to school! I returned to school when I was 49 (I will be 53 in 6 weeks)....finished my Associate, earned my Bachelor, now am pursuing my master's. I teach at a community college and see seniors returning to school all the time. Even if it's just for a mythology class or computer class, they love to learn.

Looking forward to being part of this challenge. I need to curb these menopausal symptoms of hot flashes, night sweats, and moodiness! Plus the tummy weight gain.

Hi Everyone,
I'll chime in, because where I'm going to school, I AM the oldest student on campus, at the ripe *old* age of 67 in April.

Who says us *spring* chicks can't go back to school and show the young'uns (is that a word?) a thing or two. And BTW, I've been on Dean's List since I started back in June of 2011.

Hi everybody. I'm a 61 year old spring chicken from Tasmania, Australia.

Been a Sparkie for just over a year and need another jump start so thought this challenge is the way to go.

I want to be at my goal weight and looking good by the end of June ready for my holiday which will take me from the top of Australia, right down the middle, to the bottom. Can't wait for both the holiday and the goal weight.

Age doesn't matter around here a hoot until you reach "that age" and are able to do more and be healthier than people half your age. I am only 51derful, but i plan on celebrating each birthday with bigger and better personal challenges each year. for my 50th, i ran my 1st 5k. my 51st, i rode in a half century and this year for my 52nd, i am planning on a triathlon.

Thanks Ladies for the wonderful example you have set for the younger generations.

Don't complain about the results you didn't get for the fitness you didn't do!

This month I will hit the Big 70 and want to tighten up my desire for a well balanced and healthy and active golden years as best I can. I feel if I can keep up with a six year old I should be able to get up with the rest of my age group.
So's here is looking to bust some _ _ _ _ along the nway.

i know the age isn't a factor in this challenge, but i think its pretty neat to know that there are some oldies in the group. and i agree you are only as old as you feel, and i know that i have 6 sisters and they are all younger than me and probably there is 5 that can't do 98% of what i can, because they are unhealthy. i did girl scouts for 20 years and even when my daughter was out and my nieces and granddaughter, and when asked why i continued doing it, my answer was easy, the girls kept me active and they kept me young.
and since i will become a great-grandma in august, i want to be young enough and healthy enough to see the little one grow up.
so for all the oldies out there that isn't really old yet, let show all the younger ones how it is done.
