Hi Everyone. My name is Jerri and I am on day 3 of the challenge. I have about 100 lbs to lose. I have four children that are grown now, with only one of them left at home. Now it is time to focus on me. I got married a year and a half ago to a wonderful man but he is very thin and has to eat to keep weight on so that has created a challenge for me. This is perfect for us though because he doesn't eat things that are healthy for him so now he can eat healthy with me and I can work out. He stays healthy and I get healthy. Its a win win for both of us. He knows I am serious so he hasn't complained too much about not eating fast food, greasy three meat pizza, etc. He has been eating what I make from the Sparkpeople cookbook and enjoying it! I am very excited about the New Year and making lots of positive changes. I used to run and workout a lot and loved it. I want to be that person again. I am getting closer every day. My first goal outside of doing this challenge is to run/walk a 5K in June. emoticon

Here we go! My name is Staci. Don't let my user name fool you... I'm really 47! Stepped on a scale on New Year's Eve and immediately decided that I need to go back to SP! Started the Challenge today and am looking forward to scheduling time into my daily calendar to get the workouts and cardio in! That's the only way it'll get done. Three kids and three grandkids plus a full-time job with a lot of travel keeps me quite busy!

Hey y'all! I'm June, I live in Mesa AZ and I am turning 50 this year. YAY for me because I will NOT look like this, and feel like this when I hit that milestone in (duh!) June. So far its been great until the week before Christmas and then my motivation was lost in the piles of fudge and wrapping paper. Can't even explain how glad I am the holidays are done and life feels relaxed again. Started the challenge yesterday, so far two days down and I love it!

My name is Nancy and I have been on spark people for a while but have been off and on with my commitment to exercising. I am in nursing school and usually stop exercising when school starts. Hi! I'xm trying to lose the same 12 pound a that I didn't lose last year. I weigh the same now that I did in 1999 when I got a cancer diagnosis, and have lost 30 pounds to get there. I am motivated to lose these last 12 pounds.

Have done 3 Biggest Loser Challenges at my athletic club. Went from size to size 8. Still need to get my body fat down. Love to do quilting and rubber stamping. Retired from teaching 6 yrs. ago with 25 years in.

Hi all! I admit most of my current motivation to join & stick with this challenge is the possibility that I *might* win an iPad at the end of the month. I actually exercise regularly already - have been for quite a while (1 year when I hit my Sparkaversary in a few days). However, I allowed holiday eating to get the best of me and have gained some weight instead of losing it or staying the same. I'm counting on doing this to give me the jumpstart I need to get myself back on the right track!

Hi, I have been on SP for almost three months. Prior to starting SP, I had lost about 15lbs and have lost another 11 or so since October, since I have had daily contact with SP. This is my first challenge. I have a large amount to lose (+100 pounds) to lose, but I am working at it. My life is in transition, since I am on unemployment and since August 2011. I anticipate going back to work shortly, but I have a goal of minus 100 lbs. I am also working off my blood pressure medication. I recently turned 50 years old. I have a lot of empty time, but self esteem issues, and depression, and stress sometimes interfere, but I have had great support from the SP community. So good luck on the challenge and my muscles are already sore.

Hi, my name is Lisa and I am new to this site and blogging in general so I hope this message even ends up where it is meant to go. I started my weight loss journey in October of 2010 when a gym chain opened in my area. Since then I have went from 217 lbs to my current weight of 148 which seems to be staying the same. I never really thought of hitting a certain number, I just am in love with feeling ALIVE!!!! I love reading motivational thoughts and quotes to help keep me going, also love to be surrounded with positive people who are also enjoying this journey of life. Glad I found such a great website to be part of and hopefully I will get to know this site like I have got to know the elliptical machine. Good luck to everyone and we CAN do this!!!!!!! :o)

Hi, I'm Terri. I'm 55, married, content with my life but not with my weight and level of fitness. I don't have any health problems, but am 80 lbs. overweight and it won't be long before I have problems if I don't get some weight off and stay active. I don't usually do well with challenges because of all the tracking involved--too much time sitting at the computer--but I'm going to give this one a try and do the workouts even if I don't get all the tracking done.

Hi I'm Michele and although I've been with SP 2 months now, I have avoided exersises at just about all costs. I have done some cardio and I do walk 2.5 - 4 miles almost everyday and to this I've lost 14 lbs. Yay!!

Some of the problems I seem be having breathing, counting and not being able to do much at all without getting tired. But I do feel the tenderness afterward.

This looks like fun though. More explaination in how to do excersises is what i think is the problem.
