I'm Scott, 33 year old guy from Calgary Canada. I'm so ready to do it right in 2012.
I'm joining this challenge not for the prizes but for myself. I've been with SP for almost 2 years now and I lost a lot of weight. Unfortunately, maintenance hasn't been nice to me so I need do a little work to get back to my goal weight. I have the tools to get the job done and I have Sparkpeople to thank.
On a side note, when will these challenges be open to Canadians??? There are so many great contests and giveaways but I'm not eligible for any of them. It's kind of discouraging.
Let's do this in 2012!!

Hi, I'm Sandi. I just graduated in Chemistry and education in December 2011. I'm on a break and then it's back to work in the fall. Last year was a bit of a disaster int he beginning, since I injured my back and then had physical therapy, due to overexercising. I'm hoping to not repeat that! I think this will be a great challenge to get me back in the exercising routine! emoticon

Hi there, my name is Casi. I'm from Texas. My husband and I just celebrated our 5th anniversary. He has a goal to lose nearly 100 pounds.

Through SP, I was able to lose all of my baby weight (right around 30 lbs), but I want to lose that weight that I intended to lose BEFORE baby Eli was born. My goal this year is to lose 20-25 lbs. In, fact, I would love to accomplish this (or most of it) by my son's 2nd birthday in March.

Hello, everyone!
2012- a new year, a new start! The past year brought a lot of unexpected changes in my life - and another 10 lbs. on top of the 55 I'd already gained since my 2 babies (who are 23 & 24 yo.!). The recent results of my blood test showed me in unequivocable terms that I am pre-diabetic. I will develop diabetes without serious life style changes. I cut my sweets to 1/day, cut back on carbs, & cut portions. The past week saw 2 lbs. lost- over the holidays! It's probably just water weight but I'll take it! A good way to start the new year!

Hello! My name is Kris, I've been sparking for 3+ years now, with great success. I haven't been very socially active on spark lately, but check in constantly and still log my minutes. I still have 5-10 lbs of fat to lose And tone, and I am hoping to add a little extra bonus to my workouts to reach those final goals. I'm also focusing on my running, and it's my goal to officially sign up for my first race this year.

My goal for this challenge is to lose 5 inches, and 5lbs before the end of January. I am 24, soon to by 25, hispanic American female who has recently found the joys of a healthy lifestyle. Am I starting to sound like a documentary? haha. I joined a local boot camp fitness club 3 months ago, and it has changed my whole perception on weight loss and nutrition. This year I plan to continue my membership with my boot camp, and add even more personal fitness goals into my every daily routine. 2012 will be my year to finally reach my ideal body type. emoticon

I've been Sparking off and on for a few years. Last year I got committed and lost a little more than 50 of the 130 pounds I needed to loose. Then it got hot and quit exercising as much then started skipping logging foods. Well you know the rest (excuses, excuses, excuses). I got lazy. Now I am back strong and committed (and re-losing 25 pounds) to get back to where I was. The important thing is I am back!

Hoping every one has a Happy New Year! Looking forward to hearing from all of you during this challenge.

Good luck with your challenge. I too have a hard time getting strength training in and hope this will be the incentive I need. I am not sure why it seems easy to get the cardio in and not the strength. Habit I guess. oopsie-thought I was responding to the post above . emoticon
My goals are to keep on track with my nutrition, include strength and stretch training in my routines and to meet my goals of beating last year's Hancock time, running a half marathon, a triatholon, ride my first century and whatever else stumbles in front of my path.

My goal for the challenge is to establish a strength training routine (habit!) for myself. I am pretty consistent with my cardio workouts, as I am a runner, but need to also add strength training for better balance of my fitness.

Just joined SP. Lost 80 lbs 4 yrs ago then gained it all, plus some, back after developing a medical condition. Now, looking to lose 50-60 lbs again and keep it off this time to get and stay healthy. Took up running last time but am unable to do that now so I am looking for less cardio intense ways to take it off and keep it off! Wishing everyone success for this year and for their new life change in 2012! emoticon

Hi all! I used SP last winter to get started on an exercise regime. That's in place so now it's time to really focus on the food. I have 100+ to lose and would like to do that without surgery . . . Looking forward to this challenge!

Greetings, my name is Michael, my sister who works at Golds Gym told me to look at the site and see if I can find anything that looks interesting to me. My goal is to lose any weight I can, I just need someone to kick me in the bud and make sure I do something. Happy New Year! My name is Wendy. I'm 40, married and have a 7 year old daughter. I am a pre-nursing student and finals were very stressful, add the holidays to that and there has been a lot of indulging going on! I am afraid to even get on a scale, ugh! Hello All,
I have been on spark for awhile but honestly I have not used it to its full potential. I am making 2012 the year to change that. My goal is to lose 30 pounds this year and to cut my diabetic medicaion (pills) in half.

We are starting a contest at work so I am hoping that will help as well. I have a desk job so it makes it tough when you sit all day!

Hi Everyone!

This is my first SP challenge, and I'm excited. I've been doing fitness pretty regularly for 2 years, but my weight crept up while I was doing a 6 month kitchen renovation and ate out almost every night for that time. Now that I'm eating right again, AND doing this challenge, I'm hoping to lose around 15-20 pounds with SP.

Hello everyone! I nearly reached my goals in 2011 then went on vacation and well...slipped backward a bit. So I thought I'd join the challenge for some fun motivation. This year I will be focusing on dealing with special occasion eating because that is where I seem to go down in flames. I also downloaded the mobile app for tracking and love it. I am looking forward to the New Year and the healthy life I am obtaining. Since June 24 2011 I
have lost 32 Lbs. I walk 2miles everyday with my dog, 3 of those days we do intervals. I do a PT workout in a pool 3 days a week for and hour. Plus do the exercises at home my PT gave me to do at home. At 60 years old I am excited about life, and reaching my goal in June 2012 of having close to 100 lbs off and a healthy back and legs again. I will be working with a nutrionist starting this week.

Hello everyone. My goal is to lose at least 60 to 65 lbs. I'm working on staying motivated & committed. Its a new year & its been a long time coming for me to do things differently. I want to be healthy & i want to be a good example to my 11 yr old son.

Hello all! My name is Nikki Lynn and I'm a Pampered Chef consultant and a stay at home mom of 3 amazing kids!

I have been a part of SP since around 2002 and LOVE it! I'm so happy to be part of this awesome challenge because this is my year! I've earned a cruise (via the Pampered Chef and it was FREE!) and I WILL be that trophy wife for my hubby whom we will be celebrating 10 years of marriage this year! SO excited! Can't wait to leave!

So I have got to get my butt in gear about being healthy again and losing all of this unneccessary weight from the last 2 years of not caring!

Watch out 2012, I'm here and it will happen!

Good Morning I always jumped into things to fast and trying to do it all at once, i have learned i have to go slower and steadier to keep things are track and not quit. This is why I'm doing this challenge for myself to help me work everyday but not to overload it. I've working to make a routine for myself and find out what works for me.

I joined spark people a little less than a month ago. Things have gone relatively well, but I'm looking forward to jump starting my weight loss this month. It will be difficult as I will be traveling for work for 10-15 days this month. But I am committed and looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead.
