I'm Vicki, 59 years old, and over 100 lbs. too heavy.
I don't expect to ever get my weight back down to under
198 lbs., but for now I'm working to get down to 225 lbs.
I've struggled with trying to find a plan I can live with
long term and I feel low fat is my best course of action.
I'm not a huge meat eater and I do love veggies & fruits,
so it makes sense to me, to work with the foods I enjoy
the most. Time will tell if I'm on the right course.
I'm not very active due to back issues so I'm not
able to get in a lot of exercise other than walking, and
some days it's hard to do even that. But I keep trying.

I've rejoined under a new user name so thought I'd update you on what I'm doing.
I'm working with hubby to drop 60 lbs. each by Sept. of this year. We started this Sept. 2014 after Bob had his 2nd trip to the hospital with congestive heart failure. Since then I'm down 24 lbs. as of today and Bob is down 31 lbs. We're both trying to cut our sodium as much as we can (2000 grams or less) and working to keep our calories between 1200-1500 per day.
Bob isn't much for veggies but I prefer them to most meats so I'm trying to get in a lot more veggies than I have in the past. I'll be restocking my veggies tomorrow in fact when we do our mid month grocery shopping.

Hi,
I have been a SP member for several years. My PC died in October and decided not to get a new one. I have just been using my phone since. I just got a tablet so am starting again. I have gained 13 lb.
Just found out I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Blood pressure can be controlled by eating better.
Not sure yet about the cholesterol. I will find out when I go back to the doctor.

I'm back after months away ( new user name). Finally have a new computer so am ready to be here every day.......................

I'm a 57 year old woman that has a total of 83 lbs to lose to reach a decent weight where I can possibly get off of blood pressure pills and also not hurt so much from RA of the spine. I've been told by my doctor that the less extra weight I'm carrying the less stress there will be on my joints. I don't expect to lose it fast. It took me 8 years to put on all the weight. My goal is to drop 2 lbs every month and keep it off til I reach my 83 lb goal.
I am married to Bob and he's just had to get a pacemaker/defibrullator in March, and is still adjusting to having a very weak heart (20% heart strength), so I tend to stress over his health a lot, and when I'm stressing out, I tend to eat more than I should. So I will be working on making healthier food choices over time.

Hi There! I'm Patti. I've been with SP for 2 years, and I was on this team last year. I had originally lost 50 pounds with SP, and then in September I got hit by a car, and lost 2 family members during the winter. I'm new to the group, as of yesterday. I live in Vermont and started eating "clean" last May. My husband and I read the book "Eat to Live" and started eating vegan. Then I read the book Engine 2 Diet and was even more driven to eating more whole foods and cutting back on meat we consumed. It's been harder on my family cutting out the meat so I'm trying to buy more lean cuts and not having the meat be the main focus of the meal.
I look forward to meeting everyone and hopefully sharing recipes and keeping our motivation going.

Wanted to say hi and let you know a little about me other than my intro.
I'm 55, soon to be 56 and I have been married 16 years to a wonderful guy that has CHF. I almost lost him 2 years ago but thankfully he made it thru and I've been working towards making healthier changes to both our diets to improve his heart strength. He's still only at 35 % and I know that's mainly because of his weight. He's well over 100 lbs too heavy and his age makes it hard for him to be willing to make changes he needs to make. And I've let myself go due to menopause, and stress eating so now it's time to finally get back into the swing of things and get this weight off once and for all.
Recently I considered staying off the scale but I've been a scale watcher for 30 years and I just don't see that changing anytime soon.
I'm the heaviest I've ever been in my life and it's time I get back to a weight I know will be healthier for me. I'm working towards getting down to 185 lbs. I won't be thin but I'll be much healthier than I am now. Once I get to that weight I'll decide if I want to go lower.

Hi! I'm Steve: husband, father, grandfather, teacher, amateur chef, surprisingly bad guitar player.
I enjoy chilled white wine, a good cold light beer, just about any type of meat, all veggies and fruits, and natural grains. I do 98% of all the cooking in my family-LOVE it! If I enjoyed a restaurant meal, I will ask the chef for their recipes.
AND....a die-hard KC Royals and Chiefs fan!!

Hi everyone my name is Vickie and i joined the group to focus on eating more fruit and vegetables ! Fruit is ok but not my favorite i keep putting off eating it till it spoils ! I tried a banana last night with peanut butter ! emoticon I DIDN'T LIKE IT AT ALL ! I am open for suggestions i have tried grapes frozen not crazy about them either. Hope i get on the right track. I have no issues with vegetables ! emoticon

The Lord is my strength and i know i can do better with the Lords help. The Lord laid it on my heart to start a team called GOD ANSWERS PRAYER AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ANYBODY THAT WANTS HELP TO LOSE THEIR WEIGHT TO JOIN . I KNOW I CAN'T DO THIS WITHOUT THE LORDS HELP !

Good evening my name is Donna I am 67. I live with 4 furkids a dog and 3 cats. I have been with SP since 2007 and have lost about 25 lbs.

I do Curves 4 -5 days a week 2 days we have a 30 Zumba class. I have been with Curves since Jan. 2011. This is the first exercise I have really enjoyed.

I have been trying new grain and Veggies for the past few months and have been finding a lot of things I really like.
I am wanting to find new recipes. I also have some that I will be sharing.
