use the food tracker, replace some of the junk food and some of the fried food with fruit and vegies and try to stay in your calorie range. its not easy at first but it gets easier. use the recipes to replace some of the foods you like with healthier versions. reach out for help when ur having trouble, stay connected with other sparkers. get some exercise in to burn some of the calories and increase muscle. you can do this!! if i can do it you can too! im a big time foody and an emotional eater. use the tools on sparkpeople to help you reach your goals. emoticon

I wish there was some very wise words I could say that would just be the 'secret'. Unfortunately I don't think there is any secret other than to eat less and move more.

Having said that I do think that without feeling good about yourself, you are not going to feel worth the effort needed to do what it takes. So if there is any secret, it is that you are worth making this effort for. You deserve to feel better. You feeling better is worth far more than some junk food. Your body deserves to be treated properly.

Try taking small steps, like promising yourself that you will walk for just ten minutes today and avoid junk food today. You will be surprised how quickly little steps add up and will motivate you to do a little more.

You can do this!!! Read all the motivational blogs on here and stay active on the forums. It is possible!! Best of luck

Hello my name is Ella and I am 42yrs old, I joined this group because I need accountability and HELP, I weigh 221 pounds and I want to get down to 160 pounds but I don't know where to start. I love fast food, junk food, and most of all fried food. I am very open to different varities of food. I need honest opinions that are going to keep me motivated because my family members won't help in that catigory. so please help me, I feel miserable and depressed being this heavy.

Time to make a change!
