In other words, get your carbs from whole foods, not processed ones. Processing pretty much always destroys the fiber and leaves you with instant sugar spike.

If you're worried about the pieces of paper, check out PCRM.org - Dr. Neal Barnard's Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.

Not all carbs are bad for diabetics - the carbs you eat must have fiber so it doesn't immediately convert to glucose - that's what causes most carb problems/blood sugar spikes.

there is tons of research out there, and it would take forever to find an answer, is a plant based diet safe for diabetics and why, I also have to think about my wife who is now diabetic as well, she is kinda traditional, she believes in those who have the right kind off paper. and so far all I have been able to offer is supposition. Thank Mike

Hi, just checking in. I joined a while ago but did nothing about participating. I now have two books and my husband is on board with this life style.
I was also lucky enough to see Rip speak in my local town. Boy that was a great booster!

Watching salt intake also trying not to buy foods that have high fructose corn syrup, sugar, rice syrup, corn syrup, fructose, sucrose etc. in the first three ingredients.

No foods that have more than 3 ingredients that I can not pronounce.

If an item has more than 10 ingredients I put it on the Do Not Buy List as it is too processed.

Lots to learn about good carbs vs bad carbs. Also check into "How Not to Die" by Dr. Michael Greger. He also does podcasts and YouTube videos.

Hi, thanks for the link. right now my big concern is eating a vegetarian diet as a prediabetic every body is saying cut carbs way down yet as a vegetarian that is a high percentage of what you eat.
