Welcome back! I'm back too... have been here on and off since 2006.. always do so well when I am connected to SP... fall by the wayside too quickly when I'm not so am determined to stay this time... good luck on your journey...

I think you'll find Niagara more of a small town city like Peterborough is. My sister lived there for years. She said that there is a downtown with stores and businesses that isn't in the touristy area with reasonable prices - if you haven't found it yet let me know and I'll ask her about it - it's been a few years.

LINJARVIS --- I've noticed that when I walk down the street here in Niagara - people say hi to me.. and, I don't even know them. That would *never* have happened in Toronto at all. Oh, no... maybe I should change my username on here... I don't want to tempt people to go off their journey and have a hot chocolate. ;-) (LOL!)

Niagara is quite a change from Toronto but I think you'll like it. All the best with College this year. For some strange reason, I have a craving for Hot Chocolate, lol.

Patti - I was born and raised in Port Hope. I moved away to go to University and when first married. I moved back in 83 and worked in Cobourg until the Boards of Ed. amalgamated and moved to Peterborough. Small world!

JSTBKOZ ---- Well, the first time I lost the weight - I exercised (like an hour a day) and tracked everything I ate. Now that I'm going back to school full-time - I will be getting a lot more exercise ... and, hopefully the eating will remain the same as it does right now (I'm doing better than I have been in that department). I'm taking Photography. :)

I've been on SP for over four years now. Of course, I've had periods when I wasn't as 'active' as I normally am and during those periods, some of the weight crept on again. The trick is to remain active online -- record your food and exercises online and post comments. At SP, they do recommend a lifelong lifestyle change because this works!

welcome back. Good luck on your journey. I'm hoping this will be the last time I have to lose - I'm so tired of always gaining it back and gaining back more than I'd lost originally! Sounds like you've been there too! You are right - this is the place to be for support. I am fortunate that my DH (my 2nd) is very supportive - perhaps because he too is way over weight. We've been dieting together and trying to eat and exercise in a more healthy way. Be sure to check out some of the other SparkTeams as well - there are so many, there are sure to be some that fit you as well as this one. Being on here, obviously I'm a Canadian. I live in Peterborough, ON. Where do you hail from? (PS - love your name on here!)

Good luck to you on your journey. Have you decided how you will reach your goal? Type of diet that suits your life? Increased activity? How much and when? How to spot hurdles and how to overcome?

I see your heading to college. What will you be studying?

Hi Sparkies....

I used to be on here in 2010... lost weight... very successfully.... disappeared.... ate and ate again... gained most of the weight I had lost back... and now I'm just trying to find my groove again. I need a lot of support... and that is why I'm looking on here... because the support I had in 2010 was unbelievable :) and, helped me a lot during my journey. I have next to no support at home... husband just does not seem to understand why I want to lose the weight I would like to lose (around 80 pounds). I am in this for the long-haul. I know that this won't happen over night... but I'm back on here... hoping to make some friends along the way.
