Positive Thinking Exercises

1. Fill your mind with positive thoughts
Positive thinking exercises are just like any form of exercise. Repetition on a daily basis leads to us getting fitter and healthier. The same applies to our minds.

Actively seek out positive thoughts whether it be about you or someone else or something else. This is not a self esteem building exercise as such. It is a practice that makes for a worthy long term habit of a healthy mind.

I read this somewhere else on SP. I now have a string of 30 paperclips hanging on the fridge (one for each pound I have lost).

"When I go out to eat I will be taking them in my pocket. That way if I feel tempted to overeat I can hold them and remember why this is all worth it.

Being on the fridge also is a powerful reminder to make healthy choices when you open the fridge!

It is a powerful reminder of how far I have come, try it and see!!!"

Of course I am hoping that my chain gets longer and longer LOL

You can use the paperclips to keep track of how many glasses of water you have drank or how many calories or carbs you have had. You don't have to use paperclips ... you could use buttons or even pebbles!

I also read about this and went and bought a bunch of paperclips and that was the end of it. It sounds like a good idea because it is a visual of what you've accomplished even though you can't see it.
I also read that you can put the amount of pounds on the chain and then remove them as you lose weight.
I guess it doesn't matter how you do it as long as it motivates you.

They did some paper clip thing with us at WW when I did it a few years ago. I love the idea of them being on the fridge, and even more - I love the idea of taking them with you to a restaurant!!

That button idea is great. I am sure one of these days it will be empty.

I use pennies to keep track of how many glasses of water I drink each day. I found an empty pill bottle that was the same size as the pennies. I dropped 10 pennies into it. Each morning I empty them out and add them bad each time I have a glass of water.

Thanks for the motivation hope you don't mind if I pass it along to other spark teams. I don't have paperclips so will be using safety pins which I have 100s.
