Speaking from a few years of SP experience, I've found that one of the best ways to meet new friends is to read posts and comment with your thoughts, questions, and encouragement. We have over 6000 new members this week, so that gives you a lot of possibilities. Some of your newbie teammates have already created their pages, so you can go to the membership area and start clicking. Leave messages at the bottoms of their pages. You can always read posts on these forums and comment there. Look to the right in the "team stream" where some have already blogged about their experiences. Click the blog link - read and comment.
