Hello, My name is Judy. I have been a Spark People member for a long time but I have never reached my goal, in fact, I am not even sure what my goal should be. I am hoping to find some fresh motivation to keep going.

Let's see what we can do. emoticon emoticon

Hello emoticon ,
My name is Theresa. I'm 45 yrs old am married with one child, Matthew he is 14 yrs old and has Autism.
I joined SP in bout 2010-2011. I had lost 70 lbs in bout 8-9 mos on my own. No surgery no SparkPeople. Just hard work n dedication. This was 2009. When I joined SP in 2010 or 2011 I had made many friends, we had each others support. I was leader n Co-leader for several teams. I created my own team called Daily Fitness challenge. This kept me active. I even was mentioned in a blog from SparkGuy. I lost sight of my life for a few years, dropped off reality due to health reasons. Just recently I have been diagnosed with Familial Parkinson's disease, Parkinson's Dementia. Most recent a couple wks ago had a bad stress test for my heart. the heart issue really scared me so I started working out. I haven't been tracking my food, its just too much work. I just cut dwn on junk n size of my plates n bowls that i use plus watch my liquids. I came bck to Spark bout 2 mos ago.
I have been seeing Indygirl here for many yrs.. She is an inspiration to me.
I have created another team, bout week ago. It's called AutoImmune diseases is what we have.
I hope to learn alot n make new friends.
Well u all have a great day.

Hi, I've been slipping upwards in weight but trying to hold my own. Went through a local hospital-based weight loss program 2 years ago and lost 25 pounds, but have gained 15 back.

I have been examining and getting rid of bad habits, logging in, reading articles, doing SparkCoach, and looking to push myself forward.

Am 63, work for a science journal publisher, live in NY, married w/no children. 1 cat.

Looking forward to meeting new Sparkers and challenging myself.

-Sue

I am new to this time and my handle here is ORTATK. I have been partners with Spark People since 2016, but became active in 2017. I have lost 56 pounds but keeping it off has been a struggle. I try to sing in every day so I keep my foot in the door.

Wishing all a wonderful day.

On my way to my new normal.

NEWSPARKDEBBIE, thanks for your welcome and comments.

SANDYARMY581, welcome! Like you, I do best when my routines are set. I've recently shuffled my work schedule as my coworker went out on maternity leave, so I'm starting work 30 minutes earlier, which while it doesn't sound like a lot, has a huge impact. That 30 minutes is my normal exercise time. Getting up earlier doesn't work, as I'm a night owl (all my life), but if I get up with the alarm I can squeeze in a short session before work. I just need to commit to it and DO it.

I am so happy this team was formed. I am in the same boat. Need to lose 50-60 pounds. I am with you Cyndi, Lindsay, Babs. I need to be accountable. I start,do good, fall off the wagon. I do better during the school year, since I work at a school and am home in the summer. Thats when I lose the weight, Aug. to May, then summer comes and I don't follow my schedule and the healthy way I eat and exercise during the school year. I always start then make up an excuse why I didn't continue - holiday, birthday, vacation blah blah blah. To me Indygirl is a real inspiration, hopefully I can do this all on my own and follow in her foot steps.
Oh by the way, my name is Sandy.

LINDSAYB2013 .... Good Morning! I have 170 to drop before I will be what's considered healthy. I have a long way to go before I consider myself BRAIN healthy emoticon
I have a lot of personal emotional baggage and it's a daily battle waged in my heart and mind to stay one step ahead of the other. I originally started losing weight and flushed 54 pounds away only to find it all but 15 pounds. Now I am on my way to get this right and pushing forward AGAIN..... Like I have said so many times, you are never a failure, always push forward and you have won the day, even if it's just by not eating that final bite of goody you slipped out of your purse when know one was looking! emoticon emoticon

4CYNDI . Good morning Cyndi and welcome to the team! I suffer from the times of negativity, depression, sadness, and lack of confidence in myself. There are times I am on top of the world and doing fantastic, dropping a pound or two a week and feeling so accomplished, then there are the times I hate the moment the sun comes up in my window and I wake up angry that I can't just skip all the healthy life crap and I allow myself the pity party that my brain demands. There are times I do a mental shut down for a week, sometimes longer, but I always pull myself from the black deep hole I fell in to and claw myself back to life.
Remember that you can always make a difference in yourself by just believing in yourself, and NEVER...EVER.... stop pushing forward. emoticon .... We've got this emoticon

Hello, I am not new to Spark People, I've been around since 2007. I have had success and failure pertaining to my health. I had lost 45 pounds at one point. I gained 20 - 25 pounds back (depending on the day). Even at my lowest I had another 10 to 20 pounds I needed to lose according to

I am struggling with staying active and motivated right now. It seems so hard to do what I know helps me lose weight since I hit menopause (when the weight regain happened). Some of this is emotional eating and some it is finding/making the time for exercise. Just as I start into a new routine that seems to be working something happens and I just can't seem to keep going/progress.

It is nice to meet you all.

Hello my name is Barb, I am 58 years old and live in Ohio. I have been on Sparks for several years. I have had a lot of changes in life in the last 2 years and I am out of control with emotional eating. I have at least 50 pounds to loss. I am a diabetic and had a heart attack in Feb. It is time for me to focus on myself and health before it is too late. I am a nurse who works long hours. I have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren, my boyfriend has many health issues and I spend a great deal of my time taking care of him (his issues are complication of diabetes) Looking forward to this challenge.

Hi Lily ..... We've got this my friend! I managed to loose 54 pounds with a faith based bible lesson plan for groups. I was able to focus on main areas at a time and leaned on God for guidance.... Unfortunately I allowed my life to shift from God as my focus and allowed LIFE to take control. I gained most of the 54 pounds back and now need to start over.
We can get this done my friend......! emoticon

Hello. I joined spark with the goal of losing weight and hopefully improving my health. My medical conditions include Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Type 2 Diabetes, Depression, Migraines, Fatigue, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and Raynaud's Disease. I haven't known a pain free day in over 12 years, but I will not let that stop me. I look forward to making friends and being an active member of the team.

Hi! I am "C" and I am new to this team, but not new to SparkPeople.

I seem to be on a roller coaster ride as far as weight. Over a year ago I was 172. I reached 138, but now I am 144. I have had other ups and downs before now. I am 5'5" and almost 50 years old.

I have used No S in the past but would binge on weekends.

I binge, I sneak eat, I love sugar and carbs.

I started losing weight by just eating less carbs, but then decided I needed a plan so I use Weight Watchers online. But I do not have accountability so I can still have my roller coaster ride. emoticon

Meetings cost even more and going to them does not fit well with my anxiety issues.

I am not on medication and hope to stay that way, but social outings are not my thing. I am more of an introvert, but conversations on the Internet do not seem to cause the same stress.

emoticon all! Cathe from Ohio here. Jumping in to join the team to give and receive support. Looks like a great spot to be. I was a Sparker once before back in the day. Left for many reasons. You know life happened. During this time my hubby became ill was fighting cancer. He passed away in 2010. I struggled with life, for I felt I really didn't have much to live for any more. Gave up on everything and just didn't care. Gained a ton of weight.Depression was taking over my life. I felt I was not aloud to be happy any more after my hubby died. To make a long story short,I had a great friend that step in and help me. It took me 8 yrs to get it together, and start living again. A lot happened, lots of struggles, but its all in the pass and now I am living in the moment. I restarted my Health and Wellness journey about 1 yrs ago. For me its not about what the scales reads, but it would be nice to see a low number. For me its about getting a Healthy heart, mind, soul, spirit and body. I am losing weight, eating much better, pretty active. I have changed my attitude about life. I am super active in Church. I am retired. But I enjoy being a Hospice volunteer, which I do 1-2 days a week I have a few clinics that I visit weekly. I also visit the folks at the local Nursing home just to share some Joy, Happiness and Love. So many of those people have no one. It's amazing how a smile, a hug, or a Hello how ya doing can change someones day. Anyway enough about me. I am here and happy to be Sparking with you all! emoticon

Hi -
My name is Kathy and I recently turned 69. I adopted 2 boys, who are currently age 17 and 19. Both were 9 when placed with me and adopted. My 17 year old is a Junior (11th grade) in high school. My older son went one year at community college but didn't do too well. He is thinking about joining the army and I will sure miss him if he does. He has talked some about going another semester to college. This is my 3rd time working to lose with SP. The first time was about 3 years before I was able to adopt 1st son and I lost about 100 lbs. in the 3 years. It was too much temptation having sweets and soda and other snacks in the house so I quickly regained most of the weight I had lost. My highest weight was 321 and I got back up to 315 before I started cutting back. When I retired I was down to 295 and started back on SP in 2016. I was doing good until a trip to visit family and I gained back the almost 30 lbs. that I had lost. So in May of this year back at 295, I started my 3rd time using SP. I will get to goal weight this time but know it might take several years especially at the rate I am going. But I have a motto this time: This time, this time. Never quit, never quit.
Little background, I was born in Missouri and have a much younger brother (10 years) and sister (12 years). Married and divorced twice for 15 and 5 years. Have a BSE in math and teaching certificate. Taught for about 6 years but unable to keep 20+ students quiet and seated. Worked 35 years as Communications Technician for AT&T. Got my MBA and for a while thought I wanted to get into management but by the time I was offered a promotion, I decided to stay where I was. Moved to Houston in 1983 and love it here. Hate ice and snow and being cold.
I recently got into water aerobics after several attempts to find an exercise I enjoy. I am currently going to gym pool 4 times a week. I also go to Laughter Yoga class at senior center once a week. Losing very slowly with average of about half to three quarters of a pound a week. Just as long as I'm going down I'm ok with it being slow. I try to eat within my calorie range and have 5 or more fruits and veggies a day, Other than that I watch a lot of TV when not here at SP.

Thanks and have a great day.

Man plans, God laughs!

Hi! I have about 100 lbs to lose and I'm determined to do this in 2019. I am physically active and just need to make the correct food choices and control quantities. The last 2-3 months have been challenging for me and I've done some emotional eating and eroded progress. But, I'm back on this now and will finish 2018 strong. My energy level is good and I'm going to direct it toward fitness and achieving personal goals. One year from today I want to say "Wow!"

Hi, I'm Susan. I have been on SparkPeople since 2010 and had managed to lose almost 120 lbs between 2010 and 2013. Then life happened...got married, lost my dad, had to take care of my mom (who has dementia) for several months...all within the space of a year. I stopped finding time to exercise, started comforting myself with food and lost all focus on taking care of myself so I could take care of others.

Fast forward to today...I'm almost 52, have back pain, knee pain and plantar fasciitis in both feet. I am also diabetic, have high blood pressure and am heavier than I was when I joined SparkPeople. Lately I have been trying to get back into exercising regularly and making healthier choices with my eating, but it seems so much harder now.

I have been keeping my blood sugar under better control (A1c dropped from 9 in January 2018 to 6.3 in October 2018), which is a big accomplishment. I am also walking more and doing Fitbit challenges with my coworkers and friends - averaged 5,756 steps per day over the last 4 weeks.

Hi, I'm Marilyn. I'm 52 years old. I want more than anything to be able to walk with my husband, again. I am currently 265 pounds. This is the only place I can share that tidbit and not feel ashamed. I've lost the weight before. I feel like this is my last chance. I have arthritis and cannot move much. I know this community is powerful. I'm asking God for a miracle. I know He is faithful. I need to be faithful.

Hi!
Old member here but I created a new account in 2016.. I haven't been active much, until just recently.
I have about 33-35 pounds left to lose until maintenance. According to BMI charts my goal weight is just above healthy weight but I'm ok with that. I'm having problems with emotional eating so I need to keep my weight goal realistic and easy to maintain.
I'm also not counting calories since past dieting attempts messed up my relationship with food and eating. Just trying to learn healthier habits this time.
Another challenge is that I have cramp fasciculation syndrome so I'm also on a journey to discover what foods and exercises work for me and what to avoid.. Hoping to find a way of eating that helps alleviate pain/cramping.

I'm happy to have found the team and it's nice to meet you all! emoticon
