Hi! I'm Christine from Texas. I'm 40 and turning 40 hit me hard! I realized that I need to get in shape and lose the extra pounds. I have lost 25 pounds using Spark People, but still need to lose about 30 more. I am excited about the Spring Boot Camp! It will be fun to share with you guys on the board.

I can do this one step at a time!!!!

Hi there - I am 48 years old and have been working at getting back into shape. Only started Sparkpeople today. I started exercising again and watching what I eat about 2 months ago. Thus far I have lost 15 lbs. (started at 226 lbs and down to 211). I really like to exercise and have gotten myself back into the habit of getting up early and exercising for an hour or so. I started P90X three weeks ago and it is going fairly well. I have bad knees so I sometimes need to change things due to that. I had health issues last year and surgery which is why I ended up being over 220. The meds made me have hungry and I never felt full. Now I am off of all meds and my appetite seems to be getting back to normal. Really want to get back to normal weight of 165 lbs. Seems like this might be a good place to track things and great ideas from others who are focusing on this as well. emoticon

Hi I'm Erin and I live in Ontario, Canada. I've only been on Sparkpeople for a couple of weeks but already I love it and am starting to see from my food tracker where I can improve. I am moderately active - I have a desk job, but get up at 5:30 most mornings for a workout, and try to get in a walk at lunch. I have no kids, but do have a big dog, and I think we both need to be more active together! I've done lots of different exercise videos and classes in the past, but am looking for something with more structure that I can stick with - most I find too difficult to keep to the schedule and give up. This is my first challenge and I'm excited to see the results! Going to take some measurements tomorrow morning ;)

Hey everyone! Crystal from near Vancouver...I'm so glad I saw this team link. My current bathing suit is soo ill-fitting it's embarrassing so I don't want to go swimming, which makes my daughter a bit sad. My reward for this challenge is a new swimsuit. Something more flattering.

Hello you all, especially those that are here for a repeat visit. This time, let's not hope to do it; let's just do it. Repeat, "I WILL finish this challenge. I WILL finish this challenge..."

The videos are only about 10 minutes and the cardio needn't be more than 10 minutes at time. You deserve to give yourself those 20 minutes everyday. Find a strategy that works for you.

I'm going to do the strength training video in the morning. I only need to get up 10 minutes earlier. Then, I'm going to do my cardio at lunch time, or in the evening, before heading home, or after dinner. If I can only commit 10 minutes; I'll go for a walk around the block or go up and down the stairs of my office building. It's a great start to good habits.

Make it a great challenge. What's your plan?

Good Afternoon Everybody,

I just joined the team. I'm hoping it will give me the motivation to get started with a plan of exercise. I know in my heart I need to get my butt up & do something...the problem is I need to get my butt up and start doing something emoticon
I wish you all good luck and hopefully we can all keep each other motivated.

Hi All.

Glad to be on board with so many others who are trying to get fit. This is a 2nd try for me - I signed up for January's challenge, but wasn't quite ready I guess and I quickly fell off the bandwagon. I'm feeling more motivated this time and plan to meet the challenge!

Only week one is activated right now. Click on it to find out what you have to do. Alternatively if you checked the email me box when you joined the team, you should also get the same info in your emails.

Hey everyone! I'm Zana and I joined the challenge today and I believe I will be starting Sunday for the official challenge just so that it's easier and on track with the tracker. I've been on Spark for 2 years but recently only got serious because I'm getting married next May and realized that this isn't what I want to be for the rest of my life. I've lost 7 pounds on Spark this time around so far and am hoping that this challenge gets me motivated to work out more. I have trouble "fitting" workouts into my schedule so I'm hoping that this challenge does the trick to get my butt in gear. I'm excited to work with all of you and here's to a better us!!!

Feel free to add me as a SparkFriend or PM me anytime..I love new friends on here :)

Hi everyone my name is Julie and I am excited and apprehensive about being here but I really dislike giving up soooo I will give this a whirl. Have been doing well at eating habits but not so well at exercising. Usually walk over 10,000 steps per day but have had time motivating myself to do upper body. Praying everyone here inspires me to do just that on this challenge. Working towards a new me!

Hello everyone! I've been Sparking on and off for years, and normally I'm not a big fan of "boot-camp" type stuff since I tend to push myself too hard and burn out. But, I have been doing cardio consistently for a few months now and feel I need to add more to my program. Oh, and heading to Gulf Shores June 1st is a big motivator too!

I have a toddler so I'm not sure I'll be able to find the time for this as well as my cardio, but I'm sure going to try! We can do it!

Hi all, I've been a Sparkpeople member for a couple of years, but just got serious last August. I went strong for about 50 lbs, then the holidays hit and I have had a bit of a struggle getting back on the wagon so to speak! I joined this challenge because I really want to rededicate myself to my weight loss goal. I have about 40 more pounds to lose and hope that this Bootcamp will be just the platform I need for a great jump start!

Hello I'm Candace, I joined this challenge last year but did not finish it. I am hoping that since I have become more serious about losing weight I will actually stick to it this time around. I am hoping to lose at least 8 pounds on this challenge and I think that is a good start to a new me

My name is Kelly. I have been a "member" of spark people for a while now. That being said, I have not followed any of the principals consistently. I dabble for a week here and a week there. Well Tuesday of this week started another one of what I like to call my spark people weeks. It has been a really long time since I have done any kind of work out. I thought if I signed up for this challenge it would help stay on track and keep me on spark people for more than a week!

Good luck to everyone.

I'm Cheryl. Been a part of Spark people for a while. Actually, I originally joined Babyfit when I was pregnant with my youngest and he'll be 7 in July. I have had some issues that make it a bit of a struggle maintaining healthy. I've never been extremely overweight, but I've been underweight and slightly overweight. I joined a work weight loss challenge that ends 5/14 and that has kept me pretty well on track even though there have be some major events that could have triggered over indulging, but so far, I've kept in check. Now I'm trying to add in more workouts, so the bootcamp is perfectly timed.

I'm Jessie and I'm rather new to SparkPeople. I tried to start my new lifestyle in March but was distracted. I started exercising and keeping a record of what I did, but it's too easy to give myself an excuse. Plus the fact that my husband isn't helping any. He said he would exercise too, when we bought our stationary bike and elliptical.

So, I guess it is up to me and me alone. I thought this site would be a good place to start being accountable for myself and this challenge looked interesting. I did the video for day 1 today "10 min. kickboxing" and didn't do too bad.

I'm a little confused about this "Day 1 video"...it was a cardio workout, but schedule shows NO CARDIO for today..??? Anyone able to straighten me out about this?

Anyway, I'm not completely set-up yet, but will be working on it.

Good Luck to everyone!!

Hello to all the new members! emoticon I'm also new here! I've joined other challenges but life always seems to get in the way and I never complete them...I'm going to really try to focus and complete this challenge! I've lost 56 pounds over the last two years with SparkPeople (I've had my ups and downs - gained and lost - but I haven't given up!!). I have 14 pounds to go to get to my first goal of 199 pounds!!! I'm hoping that by committing to this challenge and DOING it, I'll get there by the end of May.

Hi Everyone,

Just joined the challenge today. I've been doing SP for awhile, but lost last week. I'm back! This bootcamp challenge is perfect timing; while I lost 16 pounds, I've been at a plateau for months, need to add in additional exercise and get some motivational help. Here's to US!!
