I love using my SparkPage! It is a great place to start and it is so valuable. I would tell anyone who has not set one up yet to do so. It is fantastic!

Hmmm... I guess that's why your Blogs aren't showing up on the team page. Not sure if you re-post your current Blog if it will show up.

To re-post, click on EDIT BLOG ENTRY and then click POST - and by the way, you will get 3 Blog points every time you do this - a little Spark loophole.

I'll be looking for your Blog the next time you post!

And you're right about Spark being an overwhelming site. It's taken me a year to really understand some of it's ins and outs. And I'm sure I'll continue to learn more over time.

I set up a basic Spark Page so members of the team could Friend me. I found out that the reason nobody was in the beginning was that the DEFAULT setting is 'viewing by friends only'. Since I was new and didn't have any friends, no one could see it.

Thanks for the help finding the settings to correct.

I recommend anyone new to SP explore the site for a week, check out a few teams, then set up your page. Otherwise it is overwhelming. Once you get your feet wet, having a personal spark page is great for tracking, motivation, and making new friends.

I love my spark page! It can be as creative or as mundane as I feel every day of the week. I see it as an extension of myself.
I express myself in every way possible on the spark page! It's keeps me organized (BECAUSE I'VE SET GOALS THERE) and lets me know what I need to do next.
It also helps me to stay in touch with all of my spark friends.
Spark people would be a lonely place without a spark page!

Hi MARCIA_DC and thanks for posting here! As RRUDEPARANORMAL says, you have to set your page public before anyone will find your page.

Yours is not set to public. For you (and others) - you can usually tell if when you post on a thread like this one you don't see the MYSPARKPAGE link with your profile.

This is a common problem. Many folks set up their pages but end up with it offline or friends only.

If anyone has a page and has been disappointed by lack of visitors, go to EDIT MY PAGE and check the settings!

Marcia (and others),

Reading your comment made me realize a couple of things.

1) Having a sparkpage is good even if you don't want to blog. That's only one part of its function. One you've got your page set up and set to public, the rest of us can find you and leave notes and goodies. Plus it's a place where you can describe your goals and plans so that folks know how to support you.

2) In order for it to work, though, you need to have it set to public. There's a section in the WRITERS TEAM ORIENTATION that tells you how to do this, but I'll add it to this thread too:

----
Have you enabled sharing?
Make sure your Spark Page is set to be viewed by others.
HOW: emoticon
On your spark page you'll find a button at the upper right that says EDIT MY SPARKPAGE. Click that and set your preferences. Make sure the box is not checked for it to be turned offline or to be viewed by friends only.

Check off "New Member Notification" if you want to be emailed each time a new person joins your team.
Check off "New Topic Notification" to be emailed each time a new thread (message board topic) is started in your team.
Check off "Display on SparkPage" to have the team icon show up on your SparkPage.
Check off "Weekly Digest Email" to receive a weekly summary of your team's activity.
Check off "Team SparkMail" to receive SparkMails from your team leaders.

I started a Spark page, but I haven't been real active on it yet. In fact, given my historical attempts at daily blogging, I've decided to post no more than once a week.

i can't imagine doing SP without a spark page.

I think setting one up is a great way to really declare your presence and define your goals.

At mine, I keep a daily check-in style blog. I really appreciate the comments of support I receive, and also the fact that there are folks checking in on me, which provides me with a sense of real accountability.

Also, it makes it so much easier for me to reach out to others when they have spark pages.
