I have ideas for stories constantly.

Going back to junior high school I was always good as an extemporaneous debater. There were times when I won a debate just knowing key words about the subject and acting as if I were an expert.

It's the verbal equivalent of hiding in plain sight. Just be something else, think yourself into that person or object and somehow people can look directly at you and never even know you're there. If you act like the person doing what he/she has been told, you simply melt into the landscape. Likewise if you really want to hide, climb a tree or get up above a normal sight-line. Less than one percent of untrained people will ever look UP when searching. It's built in to our ego's. Nothing is "above US", we're at the top of the heap of humanity - no one can be above us!

I've used that trick a couple of times in my life to good advantage.

I didn't think I had a creative bone in my body until I was 36. My boss wanted something done, creatively. I waited until about an hour after the assignment was given, then went to her to make my pitch for remaining employed even though I wasn't "creative" She listened to me and when I got to the point about not being creative her jaw dropped open and she started sputtering, shaking her head no and saying, "Stop, stop, stop".

She then went on to list a number of things I had done that were a little out of the box and told me what I had come up with was very creative. She would have never thought of applying something "I had learned" in a job in a different industry to the industry I was now in.

I was dumbfounded. THAT was being creative? I just logically connected the dots that seemed to fit. She told me, "It's creative because no one else but you even had the dots to connect". Oh.

Since then, it has become easier and easier to be "creative".

Sigh - you folks who write fiction have brilliant minds ... POPEYE, love your impromptu plots. If I remember, you had a lovely one for my step-granddaughter's trunk show!!

I believe in the theory of "Six Degree of Separation". I just didn't know it applied through time, also!

I can feel it - there is a story to weave around that sort of connection. I'll write it down in my file of "Story Idea's", however, if you decide to write it I will graciously bow out in favor of the direct relation.

And with a Wave of Power, thusly was she called Rayven.

With such a powerful name, you may be related to one of the most capable of our ancestor's, Poe. The Grand Master Edgar Allen.

My name is Rasheda, but my pen name is Rayven. I'm a mother, student and writer. My genre of choice... Paranormal Romance. I've been writing ghost stories since I was a kid. It wasn't until I decided I want to be a teacher, that I discovered I'm not to bad of a story teller. So I'm writing on my first novel. There's more to share, and plenty of time to do it. So see you around the community.
