Well, after four weeks of attempting to get in contact with Sloofy with negative results, I have reached the conclusion that Sloofy couldn't hang on.

Sloofy, we hardly knew ya. Actually there are at least three of us who never knew you.

If anyone on the team can give us some details about poor Sloofy, we'd gladly try to get her out of suspended animation.

Just reply to this thread and we'll gladly give it a second shot.

But what if she has the flu?. On second thought, if you are in contact with Sloofy, will you please let her know of our interest?

Popeye - these are great ideas. I'm up for co-leadership with the caveat that I may have to scramble a bit during December - I'm retiring in January and will have much more time.

Let me know if that works for you.

If I recall, we live near each other - you in KCMO and me in Louisburg, KS. That may be advantageous as we move forward.

I had a couple of ideas that I wanted to run by the team leader, Sloofy, but haven't been able to contact her/him.

I checked her Spark page and the last blog she posted was 4/17/11. Sloofy has been a member since 3/25/11 but has accumulated only 1955 Spark points. I usually accumulate over 700 points per week, so for me that would be about 2.5 weeks.

I noted from her Spark page that at least one other member of our team has tried to get in touch with her - but apparently never got a response.

Her last entry on one of theses message boards was so long ago that the Spark system had it pulled off her Spark page and archived it.

We need an active leader (actually at least two) and I know how to get Sloofy removed from the leadership position.

I volunteer to lead as either the first or second leader, do we have a second or third volunteer?

After you become a leader, there are some things that you can do that a regular member can't access, such as adding additional topics, lock topics so they are always on top and displayed, and send blast emails to the entire team. A leader can also set goals that can help us reach weight loss/increased strength/increased stamina goals and play active games such as the emoticon emoticon

That's a first for me. I hit the [Post Message] and it cut a chunk off my post. So from here, the edit is.

..... The Most Pounds Lost in a week/month/quarter, etc. The same with inches lost (not including height). We could have a section for lighter topics - My favorite quote (and why), or my favorite motivational fall-back, The Way I Feel Today (expressed as an emoticon or emoticons), Short, Short Jokes, Shaggy Dogs, The Cost I Paid for Gas Today?

We could have a Section devoted to types of writing (Technical, Short Stories, Novels, Plots, etc. We could even have a section devoted to short submissions with a request for honest (but expressed in a friendly manner) critiques. An example would be if I posted a particular chapter and other members could critique my spelling (I learned to read phonetically [foneticly]), my grammar, use of punctuation, etc. I know who we could ask from this team to be our technical writing guru). We could even assign emoticons to mean some explicit emotion (pensive emoticon , angry emoticon , Wow, why didn't I think of that emoticon , My Brain Cells are having difficulty staying in contact emoticon , Sarcastic emoticon , Serious, but ..... emoticon (I first saw this as a "Mister Cool" with an off-center tomahawk haircut - kind of like me except I don't have the hair for any type of tomahawk), etc.

Prithee dear friends, what thinkest thou?
