Good to hear. Our society automatically tends to label "morbidly obese" people as unhealthy, even when that isn't necessarily the case. Since you don't have any apparent health issues, it allows you more flexibility in deciding what kind of changes you want to make. It sounds like your approaches and the involvement of your family are going to help a lot. Yeah, depending on your influences, exercise can seem like a chore. But, for me anyway, once I actually get past the first step and do it, I feel SO good. And it can be a really fun way to hang out with others/your family. So, yay! Have fun.

Rogue,
I do not have major health issues, I am just classified as morbidly obese. I always figured since I dont have diabetes or high blood pressure I must be realitively healthy... But I am making a life style change, I am making sure my kids see me eathing healthy foods and I am slowly getting them to eat them too. If my 3 year old help cooks it, she will at least taste it. I didn't have food role models, we lived on what was cheap (processed crap) and take out. I grew up in Arizona with a strict family, so it wasnt allowed for us to go outside unless my dad was home, so we spent a lot of time in front of the tv. I never realized people actually liked to run or whatever, I thought it was something people did in PE... Naive huh? But I ready to make a change, for life, so here I am!

Hey, congratulations on making the decision to focus on your health. I hope you are able to see this as a life change vs. just a weight loss plan. Do you have specific health issues or just classified as "morbidly obese?" Regardless, be compassionate and patient with yourself while you implement changes in your life. We'll be here to cheer you on.

Hi! I am 29. I am morbidly obese and I am finally ready to do something about it. It is kind of scary when your three year old tells you that she doesnt want you to die... So here I am. I will need buddies and support, but hopefully I will be seeing ya'll often!
