Two things about your post and your day: First, you made conscious choices and didn't mindlessly eat which is great and second, you came back and talked about your choices - the positives and negatives (it is easy to omit negetives in this forum) and are still working towards the ultimate goal. Congrats on your fun day with your family and staying with us for the long term. Let me know how tomorrow goes... and don't put too much pressure on the weigh in for the first week, just make consistent good choices the the scale will be consistent for you too.

A note on amusement parks - my family went to Disney World last week and boy did I enjoy the tasty treats... hence starting this program when I got home!

Thanks CC! I am back - and I did track all my food. I made a healthy lunch for the car and all we had at the part was candied nuts that we all shared and an icecream cone. The least junk I have ever eaten in a park! We did take my Mother in Law out to dinner which put up to 2200 points for yesterday but I tracked them and I did walk at the park all day long which has to count for something! I started this week picturing losing 8+ lbs (first week and all that) and have blown it like always but I am trying to readjust and think as long as I lose something - I am healthier for the choices I made this week and I will continue to make healthier choices. Not just oh forget it - I'l ltry again once...

I agree with your Mom but it is amazingly easy to forget when looking at my favorite foods - why is that?

I think it is ok to treat yourself to the pasta and such once in a while but since you are having an amusement park day tomorrow it would be wise to be careful too. Enjoy the activities more than the food... my mother's favorite quote is "nothing tastes as good as thin feels". She lost 130lbs with that attitude so I think about that from time to time... on the other hand funnel cake is pretty tasty. Everything in moderation... enjoy your day! Just remember to come back to us when you are done!

Congratulations on the 1.5! That seems like a more reasonable number - mine is inflated just because I put on quick vacation weight. I have found if I take it off right away it seems to come off easier!

My kids slept over a friends house last night and I went out to dinner with my husband. I ordered pasta (what I wanted), I had wine, I started with a salad and ended with dessert but .... I still tracked it in the food tracker this morning - for me that is a start! As it turns out I ate 2200 calories yesterday but I did take an hour stroll and played tennis for almost 2 hours. I am up .5 but am happy with that. We are going to a hotel tonight and an amusement park tomorrow. I will try my best to be back on here by Sunday and to track everything. I don't know if it is better to allow myself these treats or to stay true to my diet (which I obviously have not been able to do). I need something to work long term!

Welcome to our group! Glad to have you. We can all do it together one day at a time... one smart choice at a time. Awesome that you have lost 5.5 lbs already... that will keep you motivated! It certainly would motivate me... I am at 1.5 lbs.

I'd like to lose too! I am on day 4 today. I just got back from vacation and hit the point I need to lose 50 pounds. How did I get here??? I used the meal planner from this website and it gave me some new ideas for healthy choices (my kids are not thrilled!) but I have dropped 5.5 lbs so far this week and now I just need to keep going. I am usually great at starting but don't get past the second week. I really think I can do it this time!

I would love encouragement and would love to encourage you all! Wendy

How did everyone make out yesterday? I exercised hard and stayed in my calorie range but I did give myself a treat of a small serving of vanilla ice cream with some choc. syrup (my daughter wanted some... my kids are usually my downfall). I guess that is how you are supposed to do treats... keep it small and under the calorie count for the day. Headed to the gym in about an hour. Good luck today!
