I agree with Simplemaw, meals don't have to be fancy. Part of it is getting rid of our preconceived notion of what a "meal" should look like. Replacing the starch with a veggie or with eggs or nuts is a good way to go. Having breakfast for dinner or dinner for lunch is another good way to keep things simple. emoticon

Welcome! Planning meals isn't hard unless you make it so. Figure a meal is protein (meat, fish, poultry), a cooked veggie, and a salad. Don't forget the butter on the veggies and the full fat dressing on the salad!

I have been lurking here for awhile and decided to join because everyone seems so active and supportive on this team. I have been slowly easing into eating low carb after realizing I have sensitivities to gluten. Eliminating other non-wheat carbs seemed the next step to help with weight loss. I've lost weight in the past with Weight Watchers (and maintained for about 5 years) before the weight slowly started to come back on. Again, attempted WW but could not stay on program. That's when I first found Sparkpeople. I lost some on a low cal, low fat diet but plateaued for 6 months and gave up. Hoping this new way of eating will help me gain control of my eating and my weight.

I decided to start Induction today after eating a small amount of carb junk this weekend. I hope I can stick to it for 2 weeks. It seems pretty easy to follow until I actually try to plan meals!

Lisa
