So add some hummus, some spinach dip and some puffy veggie chips and about 16oz of water and there you have my snacks at the reception last night. I had to stop by Jack-in-the-box to grab a hamburger for my son, so I grabbed some grilled chicken and an unsweetened iced tea for me so I could fill up before I got there.

Thankfully - today is another day and I'm right back on track. In my bag today are:
2 hard boiled eggs
2 containers of greek yogurt (Lucerne non-fat!)
A big ol' bag o' salad (mixed lettuce and spinach)
chopped up turkey breast for the salad (and oil & vinegar)
1 orange
1 grapefruit

though I seriously doubt I'll eat all of that. emoticon

Into day 3 and am already down 3.4 lbs. phew!

This evening will be interesting. I am off to (my last!) high school robotics sponsor reception. There will be an assortment of munchies - I will do my best to avoid the cakes and cookies. However, I may break down and mix fruit with my veggies...plus I know there will be hummus (and I love hummus!). I think I'd be better off with the hummus than any dressings for the veggies. And water...plenty of water.

I certainly feel the love! emoticon

I'm ready to head home. I've done well so far today:
2 hard boiled eggs
coffee
1 large orange
1 gigantic salad with turkey
1 greek yogurt

I intend on having veggies and chicken tonight.

Hopefully, I can get a short walk in...

Thanks everyone for my welcome home - it's great to be back and I will try to post on a daily basis to maintain accountability.

love you all! emoticon

The great thing about your situation is that you have had success before. It's a proved fact that people who have been successful at quitting smoking, losing weight or giving up alcohol are twice as likely to be successful if they have given in and fallen of the wagon. You already have the mad skills it takes to lose weight. You know that it works and you are just the women to work it. I'm excited for you. The thing that I love about this team is that we are all on the journey together. I see us all climbing this huge mountain called truth. Our paths are all as different as we are. Some of our paths go straight up, some meander, some go up and down, but we all have the same destination in sight and we encourage each other everytime our paths cross. I'm so happy that you have crossed our path again.

Here's my reaction to seeing your post. i saw the title and said to myself... oh, i need to read this one now and i was hanging my head low in sympathy... then I saw the name of the person who created it and my head popped up and I thought wow, i just answered a post from a newbie about how i got through the first cycle one and it was because of YOU and others who responded to me. and there YOU were. YOU were the one who got me to put my goals up on my sparkpage. YOU are the one who made that color coded thingie i carried everywhere (i did put it into a column format) YOU were there for me and i imagine you were there for YOU back then.
YOU can do this. You will do this.
I am so happy you have come back. Now, get that head up, and know you can do anything for 17 days. and you are choosing to do this for yourself.

emoticon back. Make yourself at home.

with care,
Sharon

Terri,
So glad you're back. You have made a decision and now no more looking back. It won't take long and you will be feeling good again and you know you have your buds to encourage you along the way. We've all been there and done that but the important thing is you are now putting yourself first and have let your son know so ok let's go! You're not a newby, you already know the answers to your success. Have you listened to the fatloser.com series? I will look forward to seeing your postings and blogs and I know everyone on the team will be so glad to have you back. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

I ran away.
It's been a tough 6 months and I have fought a courageous battle...and through it all, I tried to stay focused on healthy eating. But my strength gave way to pizzas and tacos and nachos and tubs of popcorn all washed down with wonderful red wine. And I'm bloated. And fat. And bordering on not fitting into my clothes.
I'm hurt by the fact that I let myself down. I fell into the old trap of putting myself last.
I have no reason but I have plenty of excuses.

Last night I marched into my sons room and declared it "done." No more. I'm back to the 17-day diet and I will follow it faithfully. I have been here before and I know the difficulty. But it's mind over matter. I'm strong and I will get back on the damned horse and ride it out.

I will try and post every day. But I will at the very least get back to blogging and posting my foods.

So here I am - a newbie again - looking for the support that got me through the difficulties last year.
