My A1C is 6.6, my Dr said she is not worried about that. She would prefer it be 6 but I am in range and diet and exercise is all I need at this time. I do Qi Gong nearly every day, 30 - 40 min. I also walk at least 40 min nearly every day. I use dumbbells 2 - 3 times a week.
I will not over do exercise, if I do I am in extreme pain. I do watch my diet closely. I understand about being away from family. But God always comes first with me so I have communication with family frequently and I have my church family. Keep on keeping on. you can do it all. emoticon

Well, I went to doctor & had A1c test Wednesday. My results came back at 6.1. Doc is out of office today, but told me Wednesday b4 we got the results, that he'd rather address this with exercise & diet. But now, since we have my #s, I wonder if he'd rather put me on medication? I already workout about 4-5 days a week, running on the treadmill. I do an average mile in about 14.30 minutes. Not fast by some standards, but for someone with chronic back problems, I think a 14.30 miles is pretty darn good.
His concern is that I already workout & eat lots of fruits & veggies, & my #s are still a bit elevated. He referred me to a nutritionist but when I talked to them yesterday, I discovered that will cost a small fortune since I haven't met my deductible. I use Sparkpeople to track my food & exercise. I wear a Fitbit. Between this & my hubby planning to change positions at work & move us 3 & half hours from my new granddaughter; I'm a bit stressed. All I want to do is cry. emoticon
