Welcome. I agree there's never the "perfect" time to begin healthy eating. There can always be a reason not to. I've found that once I began logging my food intake it became easier and easier. At first though it was TOUGH not to quit. Yet it got better. I'm at day 80. Be patient and stay with it.

It's a silly time to start any kind of diet, right? But there will always be a reason not to start, every month has some holiday or event that interferes starting anything, December - Christmas, January - New Years, Avoiding News Resolutioners, February - Ground Hog's Day, Valentines Day, March - St Patricks Day, Easter, April - Tax Day, May - Memorial Day, June - MinervaCat's Birthday, July - Independence Day, August - Women's Equality Day, September - Labor Day, October - Halloween, November - Thanksgiving and it all starts over again.

I am in my mid 40s and tired of being overweight. This year I made the very difficult decision to stop coloring my hair and let the natural hombre of silver and black grow out; my hair is very long and it will be a long growing out process, about 2-3 years. To go with my new hair, I need a new body. I know the normal process is the other way around, but I've never been normal.

I am also thinking about using the DASH diet. Can that be used with the sparkpeople page?
