Holidays are tough. It seems like most people (diabetic or not) take leave of their senses. I used to do this too. I find it helps a lot to keep tracking my eating and walking. The record keeps me honest. I am committed to my logging even if the day has been less than good. I know my body knows even if I try to deny.
