Welcome to the team! Keep in mind that the majority of your weight loss progress comes from diet, not exercise. So even if you're only doing small amounts of exercise, you can still lose weight consistently if you're careful with your food choices. Also don't be afraid to experiment with different kinds of activity to find one you enjoy :)

Hi. I'd recommend you see your doctor and get your blood tested. I also recommend Atkins Diabetes Revolution. It was the last book he wrote before he died, and another doctor finished it for him. You will learn a lot. A low- carb diet is the best thing for diabetes and prediabetes. The diet in this book is slightly different from the regular Atkins program. I was diagnosed in January, and my sugars have been normal since the first week. I have lost 25 pounds so far. This is slow loss by low-carb standards, but I am in my 50s. Good luck.

Hi, my name is Michele. I'm just starting on my lose weight/get fit journey and I'm still a bit resistant. I hate to exercise, but I'm 42 and need to lose 50 lbs-I haven't been feeling well and I'm worried about diabetes because it runs in my family and I had gestational diabetes (insulin-dependant) with my last pregnancy 14.5 years ago. So I have to make changes whether I want to or not. Staying motivated will be my biggest challenge.
