GREENTEAMQUEEN, welcome to the team and to SP. In joining and introducing yourself, you have taken the most important step. You have acknowledged that you want assistance and support. Our 5K program is a great way to get back to walking.

You mentioned that you have set up all your pages, but I don't see a SparkPage for you yet. You might want to set it up and my suggestion is to set it to public. You will make a lot more friends because they will be able to offer support and encouragement via posting to your page. Take things slowly like Carol says and you will be successful.

Welcome to SP!
The site can be overwhelming at first, so my best suggestion is to explore by going down the list over on MySparkPoints. Explore other people's SPages, join teams and leave them if they aren't what you need. Make friends and talk about what's going right and what's going wrong. This is one place I have always felt safe in speaking openly. Get going with small changes - trying to change it all overnight will end you up in burnout and frustration.
Have fun and congrats on making the decision to live a healthy life!

Hi everyone. I joined SP tonight..set up all my pages...logged my stats and entered my the introduction part, right? Well, this is my out of body experience, because this is something I don't never do ...I don't put myself out there, I can't discuss (let alone admit) that I need to lose weight, and I never, ever take the chance that someone, somewhere, may recognize me and see my digits...but this hasn't worked for me so far, so I'm looking to shock myself in to smartening up.

Shortly after my best friend passed away from breast cancer 3 years ago I began training to walk the 60km weekend to end breast cancer for the Princess Margaret hospital in her honour. From April to September I logged about 40kms per week and lost the same number of pounds. I felt awesome! Now I'm the heaviest I've ever been in my life and I am miserable.

I am here now to change, and I sure could use your help...I'm tired of dragging around the scale attached to me. I need to feel awesome again!

Any advice to get started on the right track would be most appreciated :)
