I got side tracked last Nov/Dec and got back into by doing the C25K again. I found that I needed something to tell me to start and stop vs staring at the timer on the treadmill, made a huge difference.

I was off one week because of the heat, but I'm not giving up, I have 3 runs planned, 2 in Sept and one in Oct.

Hi, Amy!
I'm Amy.

If you don't have a race to train for, how about increasing your long slow runs until you get to around 8 or 10? Your shorter 2 or 3 runs during the week could be used for easy runs & a tempo run.
I know how not having a plan makes you feel out of sorts. Do you have a time goal you'd like to meet, like running a 5k in under 30? You could keep that in mind while out on your runs.
I'm ready for this heatwave to leave, too. Ug.

I too have all but given up training for now in this heat and humidity! I just can't do it! I did a 5K yesterday and it was brutal with the sun beating on me and the humidity...felt longer than a 10K I did that was cool and cloudy! I am a fall and spring girl for sure! For now I am going to do whenever it is cooler out, and use the dreadmill for intervals just to keep up on something. I too hate ST but am going to give it another serious try...

My name is Amy or AJBOYER222. I started C25K last summer and graduated in October. I'm so glad I found that program. I have tried often in the past to turn myself into a runner, but I had never been able to do it. But I ran 3 5Ks and a 2 mile fun run in the fall, ran fairly consistently through the winter and spring, and did an 8K and 10K this summer. The heat and humidity has knocked me WAY off track. I was going to train for a 1/2 for this October, but I have not been running consistently enough now and don't want to push myself too fast too soon (just read Coach Nicole's blog on that subject). So now I'm floundering with no "program" to follow. I'm thinking of going back to B210K just to give me something to stick to to stay consistent, but I'm open to suggestions!

I also love Zumba, struggle with adding ST into my program, and am starting a belly-dancing class this month. I love hanging with my family, and I love to read!
