I LOVE the "flat" solution--room temperature flat: woo.

I haven't a clue as to what your daily lifestyle is, but what would it be like if you absolutely went cold turkey off the stuff and let yourself feel horrendous for however long--writing down how angry you are/were at letting some fizzy drink have such power over you and all that.....?

Many eons ago when I gave up smoking, that was the only thing that worked for me. I was horrified that I had let a stupid little paper stick wrapped around leaves have such enormous power over me.

At any rate, thanks for posting and KEEP IN TOUCH with us!!

Welcome back!! I'm a Dr. Pepper lover too. Switched to diet some time ago but only have it occasionally. When I feeling like a pepper, I treat myself to a diet Dr. Pepper and that hold me for a while.

Best of luck to you.

Welcome back! Since being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, I've found it difficult to be an emotional eater - it messes with my blood sugar! However, I don't recommend this as a way to be successful (although it has certainly worked worked for me!).

Try, try again, and do not give up. Success is only possible, by trying and if you fail to try again until you succeed. Even maintainers slide now and then. I have taken out the junk food and try to eat healthy but on occasion I may eat out with family. I have saved calories for this event and I will take some home. It is helpful to plan. Being back for good is better than being back for bad.

Two solutions to kicking soda:

1) Leave Texas. Dr. Pepper seems to be one of the hideous Texas things.

If that solution isn't practical:

2) Pour it into glasses a couple of days before you'll drink it. Let them sit so that the soda goes flat. Keep them refrigerated or not. Drink. If you drink them at room temperature, you'll get over the habit faster than if you drink cold, flat soda.

Hey group not sure if anyone remembers me but I have been a member of sparkpeople and the group for so long now and I have had success several times but always manage to get off track. I have been using the app lately though I miss the groups and talking to everyone I have been looking for a buddy but no luck yet hopefully soon. I have been working out the last two weeks using my spark tracker. I have been cutting back on the sweets but my biggest problem is drinking dr pepper I drink so much I am ashamed to admit how much I literally do not drink water until I feel crappy and then maybe one glass I really would like to kick this awful habit but I started with walking so I don't get too overloaded and quit right now I am just trying to figure out the best way to kick the soda any ideas would be great. well I hope all is well is spark land and best of luck to all of us here I will continue to check in with the group im thinking talking to you guys might be a life saver for me so here I go...thanks for taking the time to read my post have a great day!!!!

This is it, you only live once, you have to find a way to love yourself and be happy. Go after your dreams no matter how high. Dont give up and dont waste anymore time . Get out there and follow your heart.
