One good exercise for your feelings is to pick a slogan or saying and make that your topic for the day. A favorite thought "Food will never fill you up" has led me to understand some truths about my eating and why I keep doing it.

Good luck with journaling. It is a terrific aid!

Wow! That is great and thank you for sharing that idea! It is very powerful to track your food and exercise. It is a great thing to journal your feelings and emotions. Then you can see a pattern and learn how to change what you do not like. I used to feel a craving to go into a coffee shop and buy the sweet treat like a muffin. I do not do that any more I walk by and drink water. Linda from bean town emoticon emoticon emoticon

I found out some very interesting things about myself through journaling. Some patterns I had no idea existed popped right up.
It's great that you are so invested in your improved health! emoticon

may I suggest that you write in a journal when you crave food, what your emotions are at that time. and you will find some of the stuff you are experiencing will come down on paper. You can burn it later so that no one will find it. That too is a way of getting rid of the emotional baggage.

Ok so I have been a member for a while now. And I have seen some improvements in myself, but I still think I have a lot of unexplored emotional stuff that has gotten me here and keep me at the weight I am at. Where and how do I start to work on that? I know my weight is my protective barrier. Its my shield.
