If I quit now I will soon be back where I started. And when I started I was desperately wishing to be where I am now.

I already know what giving up feels like. I want to see what happens if I don't.

I didn't come this far to only come this far!

I live in New Zealand. Although we have a small population we do have a very good support system. Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBCNZ) has a Facebook page and a Google community forum (please note my spelling it is different to USA). Their emphasis is on education and they have put several educational movies on utube.
A book I highly recommend is
"Life, Happiness and cancer" written by Phil Kerslake who is a 33 year lymphoma survivour. It is full of how to cope ideas and is available internationally.

Please remember this is your cousins journey, your cousins body, all and any decisions your cousin makes must be respected and supported even when you know it is the wrong one.

Treatment is always negotiable if it is too hard it could be because of an adverse reaction. Doctors try very hard to get it right and 9 times out of ten they do but there is always someone who does not react as they expect. If they are not told they do not know that they need to adjust the meds.

Hi Sharon, Where in the world are you??. The frequency of Lymphoma being diagnosed is increasing so there will be lots of support and information available for you. Make sure your cousin gets enough of local anaesthetic before her bone marrow biopsy, it is very very painfull

Hi - my cousin was just diagnosed with NHL type B - I wanted to join here to learn what I can to help her out. She is 59 - diabetic. She had a basketball size tumor removed from her abdomen. They also took her spleen, a foot of colon, part of the stomach an part of the pancreas. She is quite weak - she had lost a lot of weight prior to the diagnosis. They will do a bone marrow in a few weeks, apparently to stage the cancer, then a PET scan, and then chemo. Any info or links you can provide will be helpful - I will check out the other forums. Thanks, Sharon
