Skau, welcome to the group. I am a health care provider who used to work with lymphoma patients. I am training for the 14th Team in Training event, a local triathlon.

Thanks, Ellie! I wish you all the best on your battle and recovery!

The biggest change that my parents have made has been to reduce the stress in their lives. My father retired early and they moved back to Germany - their country of origin. They eat a very balanced diet that's filled with all the fruits and vegetables, etc... They also exercise regularly - my father plays tennis a few times a week and my mom walks. They go hiking vacations in the Alps and enjoy long walks on the beaches they travel to. My father still enjoys his red meat as well as red wine but both have cut back a lot.

Hi Nina, welcome! I'm Ellie, I'm battling lymphoma, I'm 8 months out from my stem cell transnsplant. I'm hoping to get good news at my next check up in July. I'm a runner myself, I've done 2 marathons and a few halfs (back in the day). I've put on quite a bit of weight in the last 5 years, and now that I'm a bit healthy and strong to start training, I'm getting back into it. I'll be (hopefully) running the Long Beach half marathon in October. I've never tried TNT, but I understand it is wonderful support system. I commend you for being so devoted to it. Best of luck, and looking forward to seeing you on this forum. Not much activity happens here, but maybe we can change that together.

questions for you - how have your parents change thier diatery lifestyle due to the lymphoma? I understand that was a while back, but I'm curious. I'm not eating anything processed, and trying to eat more vegetables and legumes, and less meat.

Hello everyone!

My name is Nina. My mother is now an 11 year lymphoma survivor (stage 4). She went through 3 years of treatment including a stem cell transplant just days before her 60th birthday. She and my father have completely changed their lives around and really enjoy each day as it comes. They are both such an inspiration to me.

I joined Team in Training a couple of years ago to find a small way to give back. I've completed one half-marathon and one triathlon. I was a mentor last season and I'm still helping out weekly. I've become very passionate about TNT since it's helped me so much in finding my way back to a healthier lifestyle. Now I'm focusing on the nutrition part and adding some strength training to get this weight off of me!!
