My name is Karen. I come from a long line of Apostolic/Pentecostal preachers. They include my great grandfather, my grandfather, my Dad, my brother, two nephews, not to mention uncles and cousins.
I joined sp once before and lost all the weight I needed to. I kept it off for over four years. Then my husband died very unexpectedly on Dec. 29. 2011 just 13 days after I lost my best friend. I became depressed and withdrew from the world. Living my life without my husband was (and is) so painful. I ate to console myself. I ate to fill the void. Shoot, I didn't need a reason to eat. I just ate. I gained almost all the weight back.
Now, I want to re-enter the world. I want to get fit again. I want to find God's plan for me again. I know it is going to be rough....almost impossible at times...but I know this is what is best for me.
I hope I get to know you all and make some new friends. God bless you.

Welcome! Visited in Texas near Fort Worth years ago with Rev A R Kennedy and family. He has passed now, but was a great Pentecostal preacher! I have been with Spark People -- off and on -- since 2008. I began again this year. May the Lord bless your healthy endeavor.

Hi everybody! Well I'm back after a little time away from sparkpeople and the church. Went through a really rough patch and quit church altogether but am back stronger than ever and looking forward to spending the rest of my life serving my Jesus. He has been so good to me!

Hello All.....

My name is Ida.

I am not new to this team, but I am back. Was here back in 2008 as leader, Had to leave due to not having time and also medical problems.

I have gone through breast cancer and now have Thyroid Problems. God has taken care of me. I also die and the DR brought me back. God just didn't want me to leave this earth yet as he has something for me to do. I just don't know what.

Praise the Lord to meet ya'll. I'm Meta, 58 years old, reared in the Church of God of Prophecy, and fully believe that the Lord is coming soon. When I talk about the signs of the time, not many people want to hear about it. God has a plan for His people and I await the blessed hope.
I have been on SP for about 1.5 years and am working on one problem at a time. I want to lose about 150 pounds and have just heard from the doctor that I'm facing some health problems. But I believe in divine healing and that He wants to bless us as we serve Him. I'm trusting Him to show me His way.
I live on a little farm with my sister and garden. I'm a nurse and have loads of hobbies (quilting, knitting, painting, writing, etc) and travel as a gospel singer. I love southern gospel music.
My mother, several uncles and cousins, and other relatives have been in the ministry. Times have changed since my childhood, but God hasn't.
I'm so glad that you had the courage and inspiration to start this team. Be blessed and let God use you.

Hi all!! My name is Billie. I'm 45 yrs, have 4 beautiful daughters, 11 precious grandbabies,and a wonderful fiance'. I look forward to making friends of like faith to encourage and be encouraged. I joined this team because the name caught my attention. I have a blog on Blogger and wrote a post in October that was prompted by your Team Scripture. About me: I am 58 yers old, married for 39 years in Feb., have 3 grown sons (33 & 34 years old) and 3 grandchildren. I was saved in 1975, baptised in the Holy Spirit in 1979 and attend a Pentecostal church.

My highest weight was 252--I now weigh 1990. :)

Hi there. I'm from Edmonton, AB, Canada.

I'm from Illinois, about 45 min from St.Louis. I'm excited to find a pentecostal team on spark! I attend the First Pentecostal church of Pinckneyville and have been there for about 3years. I'm trying to lose weight to keep up with my 2 year old daughter, my aunt got me started on here and I'm so glad.

From Palestine, not so Holy Land, Texas, I belong to the United Pentecostal Church of Palestine, where I have been a member for about 10 years. I feel fortunate to have bee raised in the faith; my grandfather, two great-grandfathers, and one great-grandmother were pentecostal preachers, as are several of my cousins.

I'm not sure about the "old" path but I know there is only one path! Believe and act on Acts 2:38.

Hi ya'll! My name is Billie and I live in Texas. I have 5 daughters and 8 grandbabies with 2 more on the way. I wasn't raised Pentecostal but started going to a Pentecostal church when I was 12 or 13 yrs old. I backslid at 16, got out of church and got married. I am now 45 yrs old and came back to the faith a little over 2 yrs ago. I am very involved in my church and am close to my church family. Thats one thing that I love about being Pentecostal:how we are all family and close to each other. I have gone back a few steps in the past few months but am striving to get my heart and life back in line with God's will for me.
