Hey everyone!!
My name is Noelle. I've been an LMT for 11 years now. I feel for your struggles. Starting out can be tough. Focus on building your clients. and you don't need to give everyone a "deal" either. In the beginning I worked in a restaurant as I built up my business..eventually moving into an office of my own. Good luck, and don't underestimate your worth!!

Everyone marches to their own beat..so why not make music!!

Hi All I am a Registered Massage Therapist in Ontario, Canada. I have been in practice for 4 years and I work in a private Physiotherapy and Sports Injury clinic with my Dad who is the Owner/Physio. It is the best job and work environment ever. I do a lot of treatment specific stuff and post -op rehab clients. Very challenging and rewarding. I was super happy to find this group and I hope it catches on!!!

Nothing tastes as good as thin and helathy feels! Embrace your new LIFESTYLE!

Hi Rachel,
Glad to have you on the team. I am pretty knew to this but, I love giving and receiving the support. It feels so good learning its ok to take care of ourselves too! I have just learned I have broken T-4. Am going tomorrow to see a spine specialist. My ortho said I am very lucky not to be paralyzed and it could still happen with any wrong move.

Tell us a little about yourself. Have fun with the site! emoticon

I know I was very disappointed when I graduated too, however, decided to start my own business instead, finding a job was tough and the money was worse.Even for those finding jobs making commission, it was very disheartening that they expected you to do all the work and make the smaller commission. Have you checked with chiropractors in the area? Anyway, I worked out of my home for a year, then moved my practice into town. Word of mouth is your best advertisement, once you get a few regular clients, you can work out a referral program with them and don't be afraid to hand out buisness cards. The down side to woking out of your home is that you never know who is going to show up, people will call you at all hours(since your home, can I come now?) people will call you after the bars close expecting who knows what. just make sure you have a seperate phone #, and set very clear boundaries about your schedule. do not be afraid to turn someone down after hours. You are entitled to a life without people taking advantage of you. emoticon

Hi there -

I'm starting a LMT program in a few weeks. I'm trying to get as fit and healthy as I can to be in top shape so I can avoid burnout. Making the decision to attend massage school really provided another set of fitness goals for me. I am really excited to do this!

Happy New Year to everyone!

Hi Amanda!
I'll soon be enrolling in school for Massage therapy. Classes start in Jan and I would love to ask questions of people that have already been in school and are working in the field!

Thanks,
Shantel

Hi! My name is Amanda... I just recently graduated with my Associates in Massage Therapy, and I also passed my city licensing exam!!!! I am sooooo excited!!! Its hard though, because the only jobs I can find out here(Colorado Springs) either pay on commission or pay minimum wage. Whats up with that? /I didnt go to school for 15mos and get my degree to be paid minimum wage... Anyway- My plan is to work from home for a while so I can build up my clientele and then get a place of my own...
but I want to lose weight as well!!! LOL.... I want to start practicing what I preach such as living a healthier and more fulfilling life... Wow this is long- Any way- HI!!!

Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live.
