I read over and over again how the Mediterranean diet is the best! Read some of the articles I have listed. I enjoy all the vegetables.

Good evening. I'm Nana to 13 grandkids (one lives with us), mom to my 4 kids, their spouses, and others, wife to my husband for almost 46 years. I'm 67, started at 177 pounds and have lost one pound. I love veggies, some meats, and have a sweet tooth.

With the covid-19 virus around I have been eating more veggies and more frozen fruit. I know nothing about the Mediterranean Diet but I've heard that it is one of the best to follow.

Hi - just saw an article about the med diet and think I will give it a go - it will be good to receive the health benefits (including a better mood) and also may be a better way of losing weight to focus on eating healthy rather than on not eating unhealthy?!
Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hi. My name is Marge. My blood pressure has been high and I need to lose some weight. My nurse practitioner suggested I look into the Mediterranean diet. I don’t eat lots of sweet treats, I prefer fruit as a sweet. I am not always the biggest veggie lover, but am learning to try different veggies little by little. I don’t know where to start and don’t want to be overwhelmed by making too many big changes all at once. I love fish and chicken as well as beef and pork. I really try to limit my beef intake. Any suggestions or helpful hints and tips. I love to cook so trying new recipes is always fun for me.i know this will also help keep my blood sugars where they need to be as well.
Please feel free to stop by my spark page and get to know me better. Thanks for your help

Marge

Happy New Year! My name is Camille and I'm from Hawaii. I've been doing some research and trying to learn more about the Mediterranean diet. I've tried many different ways of eating before (keto, low carb, etc) and I'm hoping this will help me find a more balanced way to get healthy.

Hello. Recently my doctor mentioned that the Mediterranean Diet was a good balanced food plan. This group will be very helpful in planning and following that food plan for my self & husband.

My name is Kathleen and I live in Pennsylvania with my husband. I am retired. I have many hobbies that keep me busy like quilting, knitting, reading and walking. And of course babysitting my three grand children occasionally.

Not sure if this is still an open active team, I am new here. 45 yrs old, female, trying to find something that sticks for me. This is how i used to eat, there doesn't seem to be much deprivation and it's ingredients i always have on hand. End of 2018 i had lost a total of 30lbs, gained 10lbs and now I am having a hard time shaking it off. Can't seem to stick to anything, hoping this can work for me.

Hi everyone!
I'm new here. My name is Shirley, I'm going to be turning 61 this month and I live in Georgia. My Dr. suggested I try the Mediterranean Way of Eating, I'm just getting started and still trying to figure out what I can eat and recipes. I'm looking forward to checking out the site more and getting to know everyone better.
If anyone has any helpful hints for getting started please pass them on.

"This too shall pass"

I need to get up, brush myself off and keep doing it until I learn to do it right!

emoticon .. I go by 2B here in sparks but my "real life" name is Jan. (But truth be told, I like my spark name best of all. Have been here in Sparks seven years next month. I find myself naturally drawn to many things on the Mediterranean diet. Therefore, I just got two of their E books this week. And I found this team today, so decided to join. Am looking forward to meeting new faces, and see a couple of ladies I already know on this team...

I am also very serious about my commitment to health and fitness, and have started this new year with a "fresh start" mindset. Now I will get going with the plan for Mediterranean cooking.

I have my share of woes and try not to let them get me down. My biggest problem is I allergic to medicine and many foods, including fish!

Hello, my name is Joan, I just celebrated my 62nd BD. I am retired so I need another way to socialize and meet other women. I like most of the food on the Med Diet, I am going to make a menu because I forgot how to eat healthy, I don't know if its an age thing or what, I have gained 6lbs in just 2wks because I have stopped cooking and I am eating tons of sweets. NO MORE!

One day at a time!

Hello, I am Angela. I am a PhD doctoral student (finishing her dissertation), writer, and working on starting a foundation to speak, teach and help other past their past. I was placed on the Mediterranean Diet in November and was doing well until recently and admit I am discouraged.

Food is a way we celebrate just about everything and I want the food to be healthy. I was placed on this diet by my dr. after discovering fatty liver syndrome caused by medications and processed food (his thoughts). I was on a great deal of medications to manage fibromyalgia years ago. While I still have fibromyalgia, I use non-drug methods to manage. I am also an emotional eater.

I look forward to learning about this new lifestyle at the same time hope to help others too.
