I read that the olive oil must be cold and not heated. Then I read soybean oil is good but not cold!

What I do is eat olives. Here I read that it takes about 20 to be of any benefit. I guess I would rather eat olives cold than the oil. Cold pressed virgin is the best.

It is hard to get all the healthy food in and still have low caloric intake.

Hi there,

I've read so much about the benefits of olive oil that I've decided I better jump on that train!

I was using olive oil when I used oil, but I was only using probably 2 tablespoons a week.

The latest article I read said that 2 tablespoons of olive oil a day can lower your risk of heart disease by 44%.

So as I'm figuring out how to work 240 calories of olive oil into my daily diet it looks like Mediterranean may be the way to go.

How much olive oil do you all consume daily? If you track, what percentage of your daily intake is fat calories? I have been keeping mine around 30% (40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat) but to add the olive oil I might go 40% carb, 25% protein, 35% fat.

I have a few more pounds to lose (goal is to do it slowly, 0.6 per week for the next 10 weeks) but am looking more for a nutrition lifestyle than weight loss.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!
Mary
