Hi I like this type of food and have been eating and cooking with olive oil for years. My problem is sweets, too much bread and cheeses and too much wine!

What do you all do to lose? Just have small portions and no sweets or extra carbs?

I find that eating lots of veggies at lunch time is a great help. Also, I need to have more milk in my diet and that helps me too. Do you exercise?

Thanks for the book tips! I just ordered the New Sonoma Diet from the library. I think the key is always going to be portion control, giving up sugar and unhealthy fats and eating more produce.

Hi again! Another book I am reading is entitled "The Core Balance Diet" by Marchelle Pick, NP. She struggled with weight as she got older and tells her story for losing weight. I purchased my books on ebay, amazon and other places where used books are pretty cheap.
Keep me posted on your successes!

I am reading a book entitled "The Volumetrics Eating Plan" by Barbara Rolls, Ph.D. It talks about adding healthy veggies to meals, such as more beans to soup. Felling full with fewer calories is a great concept. I also have another book I was reading and need to go search the house for it! No idea what I did with it but I do recall bringing it on a trip with me, Since I am over 50 I struggle with my weight. I will be in touch. emoticon

Hi, I am trying to find my "new" way of eating. I have been with Spark about a month and have lost 5 lbs and gained 2. (at least I am down 3???). I wanted a diet that I could keep my nightly glass of wine and eat GOOD food (my hubby is a great chef) and this looks just right.
What are the best books? How about the New Sonoma Diet?
Suz
