As my son's in pre-black belt training, figured I should join him for the food and exercise portions - so this is part of what we're doing for the month of January.

Good morning all! My name is Bea and I live in Maryland. In November of 2009 I had RNY Gastric Bypass surgery and I've gone from 321 pounds to 191 pounds. My weightloss as really slowed at this point and my surgeon and fitness consultant have recommended I change up my exercise routine. I still have about 50 pounds to go, so I thought the bootcamp would help me change things up and trick my body a bit. I have goals to get down under 40% body fat (I'm currently at 41%) and lose that last 50 or so pounds (I have 15 to go to get to my surgeon's goal).

I'm looking for some inspiration!

Be the change you see in yourself.

I restarted my weight loss program Dec.25,2010, because I knew it was time to really get serious about being consistent with living a healthier lifestyle. My main problem has been going up and down with my weight, never being able to maintain. I have a new attitude and I am excited about my future. I decided to join the team because this is a little extra motivation and fun for me. I am looking forward to the Bootcamp Challenge. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi. I've been a member of SparkPeople for about 3 years now. I keep going back and forth, losing 20 or so pounds and then gaining them back, repeat, repeat...I'm currently up to 185lb, my all-time heaviest weight :( I'm trying again and have started this challenge, hoping to gain some endurance and boost my workouts. Today is only Day 2, and I still feel Day 1 in my upper thigh muscles today lol. Hope to be successful This time.

Hello. I joined this challenge to get moving more. I managed to lose 11 lbs at the end of last year and I am going to work my butt off (and eat right) to lose about 35 more pounds. Heck, even if I lose one pound on this challenge, I know my body will be looking good! emoticon

Hello! My name is Brooke Weber. I am a mother of two beautiful children, and wife to a fantastic, smart, supportive man! I love my family, and I want to instill the value of health into their lives. Already my children (3 and 2) will put a headband on their head get their running shoes on, come find me and say "i'm going runnin!" I love that I've taught them how fun it is to be healthy and active. Although I'm very involved in running and am currently training for two half marathons, only four weeks apart, I struggle with feeling satisfied with myself if I've not baked and eaten something Yummy! For so long my mindset has been, 'if i bake something good, then everyone will feel good!' I've discovered that by following that set of mind 3-5 times a week not only commits my mind to thinking that in order to feel whole and complete I have to bake and eat it to feel satisfied, but I really don't feel that good. I feel moody, sluggish and totally anxiety driven. I struggled with severe post partum depression after having my second, healthy and beautiful baby boy. Two years later I was still struggling....and now I've found a way to divert me from that dark place. I started running, and running, and recently I've committed myself to baking once on the weekend, or once every other week. So far I've done great. Week one is gone, no baking, headed on week two...still no baking. Don't get me wrong I don't think baking is bad....but when I eat and eat and eat my baked goods, it doesn't make me feel as good as I thought it would! I want to make it a special occasion for my family to have those treats! I want them to feel like I've done something special for them, rather than making it a daily routine to fill up time! So I've rambled on long enough...but I'm glad to be apart of this team!! emoticon

My New Years resolution is simply to get moving...I plan on fitting exercise into my routine every day, no matter what. I am confident that the support of this team will give me a great jump start. I woke up @ 4:30 this morning and worked out for 45 min!

Josephine here, trying to get the last 45 or so pounds off my short frame. I have never done a challenge like this before, but I figured it was time to try. Unfortunately, I have injured myself on Day 1, and I'm extremely disappointed in myself. Right now, I think I pulled a ligament doing the toning video, of all things. I must remember to wear the right shoes next time! emoticon

Hi, I'm Becky and I joined Spark People in July, at the suggestion of my daughter. I was doing my own weight loss program at the time, and I joined to appease her. I lost 30lbs. between May and July in 2010, but have slid off the wagon and gained about 16 back, so I'm going to be religious about keeping track of my food, water, and exercise here. I think being accountable to someone (or some people on a website, haha) will enable me to meet my goals. Thanks for this challenge, it's just what I need right now. :)

Hey all!

I have been slowly getting away from my Sparkpeople routine and it is showing physically, mentally, spiritually. This is my way of getting back into consistency, and hopefully knocking off those 7 lbs I put on since summer ended :( and then some!

Hi,
I am Patti and am turning 60 this year (can hardly belive it) and I want to be in my best shape ever! I need to lose about 25-30 lbs, I did this when I turned 50 but I got cocky and didn't work out any more. I am so upset about this so 10 years later I am starting again. I am pretty active to begin with so its hard for me to lose weight. So I decided to do the 28 day bootcamp. Good luck to everyone out there and I hope we each can motivate each other.

Hello my name is Mary. I'm 53 years old. Need to lose
the weight for health reasons. I want to be more active so I can keep up with my teenager.
If anyone can tell me how do you add the ticker tape
to the bottom of your entry. I think it would be helpful to keep tape for weight loss.

I look forward to being a part of a fantastic group!
Good luck to all!

Hi I'm Jessica and I'm 21 years old. I decided to take the 28 day bootcamp challenge because I need something to get me started with getting fit and eating healthier. Since getting married a year and a half ago, my healthy habits have slowly become almost non-existent. My goal is to get a fresh start and keep going from there. Too often, I set these goals but never get anywhere after that, but this time I'm going to do it! Wish me luck :)

Hi, I'm Jocelyn. I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago. I have been married for 2 1/2 years with two great stepkids, and as my weight slowly got higher and higher, I got more and more miserable and became a person I don't want to be.

My earlier stints with SP have all gone really well, and now it's just a matter of continuing to make good choices and really starting to change my life, not just my diet.

Hi, I'm Kate and I have been working on changing my lifestyle to a healthier one. I have been doing much better with my food choices and quantities but my exercise is not what it should be yet, so I welcome this challenge as a way to jump start my fitness. I have lost 5 pounds since October and would love to lose 10-20 more this year, plus I really want to get in better shape. Let the games begin!

Hello all I am Chelsie. I am a mom of two girls. I have had two children but since I was 18 for the first I chose to give him to a wonderful couple. $ years after that I had my daughter Jordan and was actually down to 135 after. Then I met my bf and things started to fall apart. I became comfortable with 'easy' cooking and greasy food and just stopped caring. Then I lost my job due to lay offs and lost my car at the same time so I became depressed.

I am at an all time high of 191, I have NEVER been this heavy not even with pregnancy so I am worried. I am going to be 30 in a few months and want to enter this new and exciting time in my life healthier. I have realistic goals. I do not intend on being 140 by April, though it would be nice, I would like to be lighter and healthier though. Any advise would be nice!

Hi ~ My name is Sandy and I seem to be on a mission of self sabotage. I seem to be allergic to success. I can get so close, then, voila'! I have all the support and opportunities I could hope for but I don't utilize either. I have been with Spark for awhile now, but haven't successfully participated in forums, challenges, etc. I'm ready. This morning I did an hour of Pilates Allegro machine and just completed my 1st 10 min. cardio with Spark Bootcamp. My weight is at 170.4 lbs as of this morning. Also, I joined a "biggest loser" challenge at work today. Help me win!! There are lots of big guys doing the challenge.

Good Morning. I am starting the 28 day bootcamp for the first time. I have been on a roller coaster of weight loss for years and am now at my highest weight ever 224. I am miserable. My biggest challenge has been exercise. I belonged to a gym but had not been in 6 months and no ambition to go so I dropped my membership. So I am hoping that this challenge will get me motivated again.

Wow just realized that my weight tracker is on here and need to be changed unfortunately. So will have to figure out how to get back to it.

Hi, Today is my one year spark anniversary and I'm celebrating by joining this boot camp! I have done the 10 minutes of exercise a day challenge and I found it was a great way to motivate me to move every day. I want to step things up a notch and try doing the bootcamp. These challenges appeal to the competitive side of me and it holds me accountable to keep moving!

Hello sparkers!!! My name is Amy. I am a 35yr old homeschooling mother of 2. Ryan is 12 and Abby is 8. My goals are to lose 10lbs by my birthday in March, and 40lbs by the end of the summer.
I am currently at 173lbs and would like to be around 135lbs. Then I would hope to learn how to maintain the weight, which I have struggled with in the past.
The kids and I are going to use the challenge to get fit together and do a 'unit study' about eating better and how important exercise is!!

Hi, my name is Rachel and I am just starting SparkPeople and thought this program would give me a good boost. I like working out but I am a very busy student and have health concerns that sometimes prevent me from being active. I like the sounds of this program because it seems manageable and as I get going I can increase how much I do. I have a bad habit of starting really intense workout programs that are impossible to maintain. Let's get started!!!

I am little late officially joining but I have been working out since the 1st. Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone! My name is Barb and I am starting fresh this year. I had a few health issues this year that prevented me from exercising on a regular basis. This challenge came to me at the right time. Hopefully, this will be the last time I have to struggle with weight loss. I am taking one day at a time and trying to meet small goals each day. Good luck to everyone - God Bless

Hello everyone, my goals are just to stick with the plan for longer than two weeks. I'm not sure why, think I just get caught up being "too busy" and since it (healthy choices) hasn't become a habit I fall off very easily. But yeah for me!!! I've made it so far with no cheating. Now to keep it up!!

Hi, I'm Monica. I'm a wife and mother of a 15-year old and a 5-year old. I will be 35 years old in about 4 weeks and I joined this challenge for many reasons, but the main reason is, I'm tired of being carrying this extra weight. It must GO!

My body is God's temple.

Hi all, my name is Tara. I am 31, a mommy to an almost 3 year old boy (he's the best!), and I need to lose weight and get into better shape. My ultimate goal is 35-45 pounds, but toning is the most important to me right now. I am doing this mostly for myself as my self esteem has been diminished over the last few years... time to start looking out for me :)

Hi from Newfoundland, Canada!

My name is Charmaine and I am 40 years old. I am married and have an 11 year old girl and a 7 year old boy. In my spare time I like to read, scrapbook, and spend time with my family and friends.

I have been fighting my weight since I was a tween and have lost and gained many pounds through the years. I really would like to lose this weight once and for all and get healthy. So far I am a pretty healthy fat chick...but I really don't want this weight to cause me serious health issues that would take me away from my family!

I am doing this in addition to a Biggest Loser group with some of my girlfriends. Hopefully they will both keep me accountable!

Hi, I'm Carol. I've decided that this year is the year to take care of myself and lose the weight. I'm hoping that this challenge can help me make exercise a daily habit. I would like to have more energy and to share an active lifestyle with my family.

I'm 58 and overweight and I really need to do this now. I used to work out regularly but in the last year or two I have fallen off the routine. I need to lose about 30 pounds. I'm hoping that this challenge will motivate me, along with support from SP.
