I have more trouble with food choices than I do with exercising. Perhaps this 28 day challenge will have enough 'halo effect' to help. I'm excited about accepting this gift from you and will open it tomorrow, January 1, 2011.

I just completed a Holiday challenge on another team and it was great fun. I managed to make it from Halloween through today without any holiday weight gain. I want to keep on with the daily exercise that that challenge created for me. So I have joined this team. Looking forward to making exercise a lifelong habit.

I'm kinda new around here... Let's just say that I "reinvented" myself. I've got to get on the stick this time around by losing until I reach my goal weight and KEEPING it off. I'm hoping a monthly challenge will help me stay focused (my numero uno problemo). Small steps, right???

Hi all! December was the first time I joined challenges, and I decided to try another one. I also need to build some strength training into my workout. I do a lot of circuit training because I love it, with some cardio thrown in on off days.

Hello everyone! I did this challenge when it was first created earlier in the year & am back to do it again to kickstart 2011. I guess I'll wait to start it tomorrow on the first...off to do a workout now though while I'm motivated and in the mood.

I am new to the challenge. I have been a Spark member for some time now. And I am resoluting to be purposeful and engage in my experience. I have been half way doing things, and I want to fully give 100%.

Hi, I am new to the challenge. I started Spark People in July and am down about 25 lbs. Got about that much to go until I re-evaluate my goals. Since it got cold and dark I have found it difficult to get back off the couch. Here is hoping I actually do the challenges.

Hello Everyone,

I just celebrated my 1st anniversary with SparkPeople. Since last year I have learned a lot about myself, changed some of my old ways and lost around 40 lbs. I still have 30+ to go in weight and still need to work on some of those old negative habits (like over eating, emotional eating and non motivation to exercise).

I joined this team last year and was all gun ho. Then grad school started back up and I realized something to have to give. Unfortunately, that was this team. Since I recently finished my degree and plan to get back on track with my food and exercise this coming year I know this team will help me jump start and get going again.

I look forward to the ideas on exercise and having sparkfriends keeping me accountable. :) I wish everyone the best as we begin this year's bootcamp. :)

After having back surgery in 2010 and several other medical issues, I gained back almost all of the weight I had lost. I kept up with my walking, but really gave up on healthy eating. I thought this would be a good challenge for me, especially since I can do it at my own pace. Plus I needed some variety in my workouts-I am getting bored with just walking!

I have been with SP 3-1/2 months now and seeing improvement, but thought this challenge would be a good way to add variety to my workout. I hope the videos will not be too hard for this overweight, 68 year old to do!! I am excited to get started!

Hi-I've been at SP for two and a half years now-went gangbusters the first 6 months and have maintained pretty much ever since; however, I've got 50# to go, so I'll be pushing for it this year instead of coasting along-I know it's not a race, but I've done the marathon and need to kick it up a notch!

Happy New Year! It's a new year and I need to exercise more, I've been slacking off. I have been doing Kettlebell workouts sporadically and I figured these 10 minute exercises would jump start my exercise each day.

(Accidentally posted this as its own topic. My bad. Not used to these boards yet)

Hello all! Just joined SP (again...oops) yesterday and found this group today. Seems like a good plan to get 2011 off on the right foot, especially since I have deep-seated loathing of working out. I'm getting married in 2012, and I want to get a head start on getting fit and healthy to start off married life.

Good morning. I need to jump start my routine a little bit. I've been here since Sept 21. I've lost 16 lbs and even though I'm proud of that I follow everything to a tee, but not losing like I feel I should be for the effort I am putting in, so I'm going to mess with it some this month and see if changing out exercise makes a difference. ~ Donna

Hello All and Happy New Year. I've participated in other challenge groups, but never one of the bootcamps. But after losing my first 50 lbs earlier this year and then going MIA for a couple of months, I'm ready to get started back on getting the next 50 lbs off and continuing building on my lifestyle changes. Great way to start the new year!

Happy New Year all!
This may be just what I need. Unfortunately, I'm SOOO sick right now, but 10 minutes is something I CAN do!

I had great success with the last boot camp "New Year New You" challenge...and I'm sure this one will be great for me as well!

My name is Michelle, and I've been at this for WAY too long. Evidently, I didn't make lasting life-style changes, because I had lost more than 30lbs, and when I had another health issue, I slipped back and gained it all back over this past year.

I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired and uncomfortable in my own skin. I'm ready to make some lasting changes and be honest with myself about my goals and the actions I need to take to get me there.

I need to do something different because what I am doing now is not working. I have lost 30 lbs before only to put back on 40. Last year I lost the extra 10, but I thought it would be more.

Hi I'm Liz. I've been using sparkpeople regularly since about August/September. I've lost 20 pounds and would like to lose another 20-25. The holidays have set me back some so I'm thinking bookcamp may be just what I need to get back on track.

HI Im Laura. I started my weight loss journey on March 1 2010 weighing in at 289.4lbs. To date I have lost 110lbs. The past 2 months have really been a struggle. December has been my worst month yet. I have been losing and re gaining the same 4lbs all month.
Although I have kept up with my fitness I have let my eating slip. I start my days off so well . But by 5pm I let boredom get the better of me and turn to eating. To be successful I need to stop eating by 7pm. To make a habit of this would be an awesome success.
Here's to healthier habits in the new year!

Hi everyone! My name is Brenda. I've been on Sparkpeople for one year. I lost 145Ibs. about 11 years ago. I had abdominal plastic surgery a year ago and gained 15Ibs. of weight due to not being able to exercise. I'm having a difficult time getting those pounds back off. This is the first time that I've really participated in a Spark team. I want to see if I can find success again! emoticon

Hi, my name is Susan and I've been on SP since July 12, 2010. I had tried another program before SP and lost 31#'s only to gain 17#'s back. I've lost a total of 33#'s since SP and a total of 50#'s since Oct. 2008. My short term goal is to lose another 12#'s in 2011. I've had 8 children so my tummy is the area I really want to work on now and I'm hoping that this challenge will help motivate me. Thanks for the great idea for this team!

Hi Everyone!

I'm Lexi and I have been a spark member for about 3 years now. I have had lots of success in the past, but recently let myself go. I gained 10 lbs and would like to lose that and the rest of the weight I have been working towards. I have lost my motivation and am looking to this team and everyone here to help motivate me and get in gear to exercise and lose weight like I was doing before. I know I can do it. I just need a little push to get in gear.

Good luck to everyone with your new goals!!

Hello all,
I am looking to lose those extra pounds I gained working a desk job and to not use life as an excuse not to exercise and eat properly. I want to also use this as a way to set an example for my kids in terms of fitness and nutrition.

Am wanting all the motivation and support I can get. I feel this is it. Have struggled with this weight for years. Turned 58 this month (December) I have 50 pounds to lose. My goal this month is follow the challenges and be filled with energy and a little less weight when I go to Disneyworld with my two grandchildren the first of February.

Hello everyone! I am looking forward to this challenge and a much needed jump start for the new year. I'm hoping to lose 10-15 pounds and boost up my energy and fitness level. Happy New Year!!!

Hi! I've been a member of Spark since June, and in the beginning was totally motivated. I lost between 10 to 15 pounds, and then completely fell off the wagon.

I'm hoping that this challenge will give me the motivation to kick my weight loss into high gear. I need to remember to track my eating and to get off my butt and exercise every day.
