Good for you Nancy. "Necessity is the mother of all inventions" I think is how it goes and it's by Albert Einstein.

Got in 45 minutes of cardio and 65+ minutes of upper body work today.

Have a great week-end everyone...

Dwayne

Dwayne,

I actually did use two cans of Campbell's soup today, for my strength training, as they did weigh 1 lb. each and it hurt a bit, as I hadn't used those muscles in so long, but it was a good hurt, and I used them only for about 5 minutes. Yes, by His Grace, I'm on the mend. I felt 1000% better when they removed the dome of my hearing aide off of my ear drum!

Blessings!

Nancy Jean, If you don't have a 1# weight have you tried something like a can of soup, or something that's about 16 ounces and do like OKGOALGAL said use it like a kettleball or a dumbell. I've done that in the past with 5# bags of sugar or flour or something and pray I don't drop it...LOL! Just a suggestion. Sounds like you're and the mend and this is so great.

Today was 45 minutes of cardio and 45+ minutes of lower body work.

Hope all are doing well...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

OK,

I never thought about doing it that way. When I get to the point where I'm able to handle those weights again, as right now I have no 1 lb. weights and I'm not allowed to lift more than 2 lbs., I'll give it a shot!

PFERG,

Thank you for the compliment. That's my before picture in the 5% Winter Challenge. Of course I did have about a 10 lb. weight gain since then, as I was so sick, but that's okay, as by is Grace it all worked out!

Blessings!

COLOR_BLUE: Yay! You look mahhhvelous in your photo! So glad you are up and at 'em.

OKGOATGAL: That is such a great idea! I usually have a dumbbell near wherever I am and it would not slip down my forearm the way the kettlebell does, so it would be great for the days I am not following Sarah Lurie's Iron Core Kettlebell DVD.

Today is the first day, since January 8th, that I really felt like I could do a workout, since the major surgery and the CRUD invading God's Temple. All I did was walk, but at least I am finally getting workouts in again! emoticon PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!

PFERG,

You go and get your walking in too! I'm still not allowed to lift more than 2 lbs.. but at one time I thought about working out with the kettle bells, but when I saw a young lady do a blog video about how to properly use them, I figured I'd knock myself out before I developed any type of muscle, so I quickly dismissed the idea!

Blessings!

Hi there! I see you have a spark page set up. That's great. I had never blogged until I joined Spark People. The only reason I started then was that Spark Coach challenged us to write about something as part of a daily activity. Now I kinda enjoy it!
If you make it possible for others to read along it becomes another way to get fantastic support.
I know 2BDYNAMIC is from Washington state and she does really fun and/or thoughtful writing.
Oh, and I saw that you gave yourself a neat goodie! I used to knit all the time but I haven't in quite a long time. Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could count knitting as an exercise?!! emoticon

IMLOSINGTWO,

From what I read, and what Nancy Jean said, you're doing fine. We're all here to help you.
Any questions just ask...as I have been told a hundred times if not more..."The only dumb question is...the one that isn't asked..." I really believe that and I'm known for asking some questions about everything.

Just keep posting and working your way around the web site. The Start page on the top header bar is a great place to find different areas of the site.

Good luck and visit often. Don't forget your daily workouts also...got my 70 minutes in today.

Til next time...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne
