Hi, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm almost 54 years old and I've been overweight most of my life. Since I've quit a 3 pack a day smoking habit in 1991, I've really gained the weight. I'm embarrassed and ashamed of what I've let happen to myself.

I've been on every diet known to man and have had SOME success but nothing long term. The weight always comes back.

I have a lot to lose but my first goal is to just get below 200. I hate that I weigh that much!

The last time I really lost weight was the summer of 05. I was walking 8 miles/daily and eating next to nothing. Yeah, the weight came off but when my schedule changed and I was no longer able to keep up the walking, the weight came back.

I caught a Dr. Oz episode a few weeks ago and at the very end of the show, a woman who had lost weight mentioned SparkPeople.com. I've been here ever since and really like what I've found.

Nice to 'meet' you all!
