Hi there! Well, I've got a lot of reasons to be here. Let's see. I'm 29, 221 pounds, 5'7". I'm never going to be itty-bitty and I'm cool with that -- a size 6/8 would satisfy :) Honestly, I'm partly here because of vanity, but I'm also here for my health. I'm a type 1 diabetic, and I'm developing insulin resistance NOT GOOD. I've also got a hiatal hernia and GERD. ALL of these problems (except the type 1!) would be eliminated, or at least lessened, by losing weight.

In the end, I've got about 75 pounds to lose. I'd like to be between 145-155, but I've never been a "normal" size as an adult, so I don't know where my body will be comfortable. I KNOW I'm not comfortable here. I'm so much thinner in my head.

So I'm going to be following the Primal Blueprint plan, which is NO GRAIN. I can't have wheat anyway, because it causes a MAJOR autoimmune response in my body, so it stands to reason that other grains are causing the same response, but to a lesser degree. I did follow this program for a few weeks back in May, and I dropped weight like hot rocks and felt AMAZING. (No, it's not low carb, I was still eating 100-200g of carbs/day.)

Exercise will be mostly biking and walking. I'd like to take up running, but I've got to wait until the hiatal hernia stops bothering me. I figure in 30 pounds I can start jogging and see how I feel.

Anyway, I've got to go walk the dog now :)
