My sister is a Celiac. She is in her second year of eating gluten free. She gained 30 pounds the first year, but has learned how to manage her diet better. She is now almost back to her pre-diagnosis weight. You really have to prepare all your food so you can avoid "violations". She has learned to enjoy cooking and feels so much better.

Hi I am new to Spark, but excited to be here! I have been starting a walking program by myself about 3 miles a day. Doesnt seem like anything I do prompts my body to drop the weight. About 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with Celiac(gluten allergy) and Hashimotos disease (severely under active thyroid, worst she has seen in 18 yrs!) I gained 30 lbs. in two months jogging 5 miles a day! I have had personal trainers, workout buddies, weight watchers, etc. Am desperate to have energy and feel good about myself again.
