Hi & thanks for the welcome. Give the software a try and let me know what you think. It has made my life so much more organized (although I've still got a long way to go, for sure!). Just let me know if you want to try it, or go to GardenTimetable.com.

Welcome from AZ winters and MN summers gardening. :)

Jackie I'm a Halloween baby but many years ago.

5'1.5" - I shrunk from 5'4"
Summer: Minesota
Winter: Arizona (as of Dec. '08)

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of March 2017. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2017 to be back to below 155.

emoticon I have sandy soil so I do a lot or raised beds, too---but not the lack of rainfall normally. Good luck with the software. Hope you will join in on the chat---Over the Backyard Fence---we change it every month but that is always in the title. If you need any expert help, Ask the Expert is the place to go---we have a master gardener who runs that section. We also have a walking challenge for the year--- you can jump in at any time and add your mileage to the team total---we are walking all over the US---think we have already been to your area---now we are heading to Branson on this leg and almost there. Hope to hear more from you!

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.
Charles Stanley

I just found this group, although I've been a member of SparkPeople for years. I'm an avid gardener, living on about 40 acres just north of Reno, NV with my husband and 2 cats. In case you're not familiar with our area, it's very "challenging" for gardening. It's very dry (like less than 5" of rain a year), and the "soil" is more like a little dirt mixed in with rocks. I was a city girl until we moved here about 12 years ago, so I've had a lot to learn about living in the boonies, but I love it. I like to plant a lot of different things, mainly in raised beds (due to the aforementioned "dirt"). I also start as much as I can from seed to keep down the cost. In fact, I had so much trouble keeping track of all the tasks that my husband (a retired programmer) created a spreadsheet that creates a "to do" list for me and will even send reminders to my calendar. In fact, we are considering making it a product and are looking for some beta testers right now to make sure it's ready for prime time. If you'd like to check it out and see if it can help you, you can go to GardenTimetable.com to read all about it.

I look forward to learning new stuff from this group!

Sue
