Last August, I sent my daughter (and best friend) away to college in a neighboring state AND my adult son moved out just a few weeks later. I went from Full House to Empty Nest in much too short a time. While my daughter flourished at school, and Skype keeps us in touch almost every day, it was ME that gained the Freshman 15 (and believe me, I didn't have any room for them)! I fell into a minor depression and really let food be my friend (with friends like these...)

I'm really excited to have taken the step to start back up here at SP & to put a lock on these emotional eating triggers. My husband and I started our family very young & I'm excited for the chance to rediscover each other!

I'm 46, and have a 20 and 22 year old (girls) who are (mostly) independent. Youngest is buying her first home, oldest is married and graduating college this year. So I am really an empty nester! With the freedom that brings, you'd think I would be taking care of myself but I have gained 20 pounds in 3.5 years and feel my weight is getting away from me. I come from a llong line of obesity, so NOW IS THE TIME for me to take action.
